Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
Cracking time! Still on the way home, stuck in Italy for now, but my god it was worth it. Favourite acts people? DMZ was the best night for me, T_! smashed it, and there was a massive amount of pretty girls on show. All good stuff!
Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
absolute biggun
par from having to buy a setlist that fell apart instantly, what was that about? enjoyed all the music and atmosphere weather was great ! big up outlook

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!

no-one in particular but it was nice to see all the daytime soundclashes by the docks, soundsystems were badman = Mungos Hifi vs Firehouse wasTomfooleri wrote:Favourite acts people?

Exactly. Walking up onto the viewing point for the 1st time looking down onto thousands of people skanking to Rodigan and hearing him cut them music & shout "Who's got the ganja?" sent a shiver down my spine. Such an incredible place, I just loved every minute.punk bubu wrote:I honestly didn't think that it could get better then last year but it definitely was!Big up to all the Outlook crew for making such an amazing festival!
Deep Medi boat party was a lot. Even the old dude selling beer tokens was skankin! G double is a top geezer. Missed the True Tiger v Vagabondz boat, i dont think i'll book any early boat parties next year! What a massive 4 days, big up everyone that made it possible, espcially Simon Subdub I heard he's the guy that organizes it all.
Bring on the next one

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
loved every second!
kode 9 set it off for me opening with archangel on the first night, his whole set killed it, especally the jungle at the end <3
friday was at DMZ all night, standardly. mala dropping that loving you remix took me above the clouds! and hearing alicia on a system for the first time was a defining moment.
saturday was all about house house house with floating points, sdc and roska all killing it. untold was large and hijak destroyed the moat!
sunday was all about the substance stage by the docks, mad love for george fitzgerald and scuba!
the pure vibes there was amazing, big up all those reppin skank blisters and dusty lungs!
assuming the cappacity dosn't increace i'll deffo be back next year!

Had an amazing festival, highlights for me were Jackie D by the beach on Tuesday night, Amazing vibes down there before the festival had even begun...Mosaix played a flawless set on Thursday, also Goth Trad b2b VIVEK was one of the best sets I've ever seen.
Deep Medi boat party was epic, such a great atmosphere on the boat...Some of the DnB was brilliant in the Moat and also Dbridge/SP:MC and Skeptical were just mind blowing on the ridiculous sound systems!! Rodigan was also brilliant & had a great laugh at the Chemical records stand! Was a bit pissed off about Phaeleh's set being cut after half hour, but can't complain!
I did think there were too many people there this year, but I much prefer smaller, more intimate festivals, so personal opinion!
Beach was an absolute tip after the festival & campsite was also a complete state...hope they have a big clean up operation planned! Heard they might be increasing capacity to 20,000 next year, so might have to find a smaller, but similar festival in croatia...there are plenty of others there all summer!
Big up to all those involved in making it such a brilliant festival!

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
I was wondering when this thread was going to pop up.
What a fucking holiday. The best thing ive ever done.
Set out on my own but to meet people arriving a few days later. I met someone i knew from school at Venice airport and spent all week with him and his mate. Basically met a load of new people who are into the scene and basically a new circle of mates. Really appreciate them for letting me feel so welcome in a campsite that I only knew one person.. Big ups to them!
Wouldn't know where to start with the acts.
Those who were there from Tuesday. How good was that beach rave on tuesday? Was just a one off and Weds night was much more quiet!

Thursday was a good start. Kode 9 was big. The soundsystem in that Fort was ridiculous it just battered you. Ended up going for a wander after that on my own pissed up and went to see Matty G in the ballroom. Had a gander in dungeon whilst I was there. Stewards were useless at this point though. I asked one who was literally 20ft away from the ballroom where it was and she said she had no clue hahaha.
Friday was the one for me. Hessle Audio boat was sick! Big ups to them and to Chunky who was jokes on the mic. We seen Dolphins on there too and everyone rushed to the side of the boat and it was well lobsided. Chunky - "Is that a fucking whale?!" hahaha. Had a bit of a chat with Ben UFO who was just chilling in the crowd. Should of got a picture with the guy but I felt awkward and felt it would of been uncool haha! (not pissed enough at that point). Got to chatting about FWD's 10th and some other shit. Each set was class but after they all finished up Pangea, Ben UFO and Pearson Sound went B2B for about 2 hours and it was fucking amazing. The variety played from the 808 sound that the like of Hessle and Swamp81 are pushing to the 2 step minimal! Chunky pulled up what sounded like the illest bit of mixing of the boat though. Ben UFO dropping Ruffage into something (i cant remember but it was ill). His face was distraught! Got to the front and was watching the mix and it was class. Serious pleasure to be on that boat. Had a little moment as well on the boat. I was jamming along and thought to myself Alicia would be perfect here and literally the next track was Alicia dropped by Pearson Sound. One of those "on the same wavelength" moments.

The night was big. Basically stood at that tall pillar to the left of the DMZ stage all night. Anyone else notice it was basically DMZ 6th but at Outlook? WAS HUGELY IMPRESSED by Loefah. Obviously not pushing his earlier stuff he absolutely smashed it old school style. Huge respect to that man for that. Ended up wandering over to The Bug for a bit then back to VIVEK & Goth Trad and rolling a spliff smoking it with some absolute randomer next to me (must of made his night) and although it was basically thai bush weed it sent me west because i was so pissed. Stumbled all the way back to my tent and collapsed haha.
Saturday was good. Went to go see Hidden Ochestra and went over to that Swamp81/Hessle mash up. Only about 30 people in the crowd and absolute jokes by the artists walking about behind. Oneman smashed and the MC asking for weed on the microphone haha! "This is a ganja announcement". A lot of walking about. Seen Icicle / Distance then went to the Fort to see Koreless. Ended up going seeing The Steppahs and T_! who was ridiculous. 4 deck mix? WHATTTTTTT?!? Went to Biome eventually went down the wrong side of the queue and got in hahaha. Stood at the back with a few spliffs and it went off so much in that ballroom.
Sunday was a bit wierd. Missed a lot of tunes. Saw Pangea and a bit of Shy FX and thats it. Was kinda going under at the fact I had to leave at 2:30 for my 3:00am transfer to Venice. Biome was on my plane home though and had a good chat with him.

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
Was the best festival experience ever!
Standhigh Patrol, Jah Shaka, the soundclash between Hessle and Swamp and the Hotflush boat was the best moments for me. maybe the guy before Phaeleah and Phaeleah on the beach too.
I met so many nice people down there and the setting was amazing.
That being said the organization was horrible. I waited 6 hours to get my wristband - which I, as it turned out, could have got 5 hours earlier if the festival people had been informed about stuff.
also finding the places you wanted was fucking impossible due to almost no signs there..
the sound in the moat and on the dock stage was weak which was a shame as there were many good acts both places!
and having one cashpoint for 10,000 people is a bad idea...
but still it was amazing!

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
Loefah, DMZ, Goth Trad, Silkie b2b Quest, Von D and David Rodigan were the top performers for me.
Was seriously disappointed with Hatcha and Skream.
Oneman's set would have been massive if it wasn't for the rewinds on every other song.
Chimpo and Phealah smashed the beach parties.
And the bass in the Moat. OMG.
Was such a quality week.

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
Just got home from croatia with the van and i have only one thing to say for the moment. (okay after typing this it was a bit more then one thing, ha)
Pinch - Swish VIP (or remix?)...OMG, went off at the biome night in the ballroom and at the tectonic boat party.
And i can assure you guys who weren't on the tectonic. Distance got some real sweet heavyweight tunes coming up!
I love you outlook and all the guys putting this together, we should have a mini outlook festival in the mountains somewhere in the winter. Cause i cant live a year without experiencing this again..
Now i need some sleep. Bigger review and loooads of pics/vids to follow!
ps: i love this scene so much, big up all you friendly guys i met over there

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
shit i was at biome in the ball room and missed that or didnt clock it...

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
after a break we went back to outlook, not knowing what to expect from outlook at its new location.. well it was insane, even overwhelming at the beginning.. so massive, maybe loads of ppl, but (apart from the dockside, it was bearable on most of the stages, or it has something to do with my personal taste)
from the moment i entered the beach(party) i knew i had to have a campingspot next year.. so much ambiance and fun, good vibes, nice atmosphere, and again: all over the festival..
highlights were mad professor and rest of the main on thursday, slugabed killing it at the coutyard n friday, rustie and hudmo on saturday and BEST OUTLOOK SET: TEEBS on sunday
liked all the stages, decorations, partypeople,...
complaints i can think off: shitfood in the stands and long waiting for food/drinks/toilet/.. (especially on campsite)
Pzz to all!!

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
Big up to all the outlook crew but to be honest in comparison to last year it didnt compare in many ways. The two new main stages are obviously a great addition but it took away the community and intimate atmesphere of last year. Such as seeing Submotion orchestra in the old main stage was far more enjoyable than the new main stage. The attitude of many of the festival goers was terrible and it ashames me to even be british the way in which a lot of people acted on the campsite and in Pula. Last year the toilets and campsite were kept clean and tidy yet this year the place was a state with the shitters overflowing and the ridiculous amount of litter on the beach and the campsite. A lot of people i know ended up getting robbed and getting started on for stupid reasons. I myself got my wallet nicked from my bag when i was in the outside arena on the friday night which put quite a dampener on it.
It seemed to me that alot of people were there just because it was "outlook festival" not there for the music. One example being one bloke not knowing who dmz were. Another being on the way there sharing a cab with some birds, they had a boat party didnt know who was on it, we asked them what boat party they were on and they said tectonic?!
I even heard that on the monday night of the festival in the far bar a guy was kicked off skanking next to the sub because the guy at the bar said fit girls only at the front. The guy who was kicked off skanking next to the sub then saw another bloke dancing there, he then asked the guy at the bar "why's he allowed there" The other guy then goes "he just paid me 50 kuna to dance there"
Anyway enough of the negativity, i still had a decent time. Favourite sets have to be oneman, Boddika,Rodgian, truth, von d,phaeleh. Despite the idiots met some well sound people and if anyone remembers a small guy in a cricket hat then if i met you, good to meet you too! Good seeing pals from last year aswell but got a feeling outlook will be getting a stern word from the croatian government about whats gone on with respect to the level of drugs that there was this year in comparison to 2010.
To anyone reading this that hasn't been before i would definetely reccomend going as it is a brilliant festival but for myself i had high expectations due to how good it was in 2010
