How I Got My Sound

I had my sound bestowed upon me one summer, as I traveled Africa, by the magic of a triumvirate of witch doctors (who went by the names: Abayomi, Dabir, and Zo).

As part of their ritual of 'sound giving' I had to smoke lots of crack then fight a jaguar under a red moon (three times less common than blue moons, I couldn't be bothered waiting so I just bought some tinted aviators - nothing looks cooler than fighting a jaguar while wearing aviators)

Upon achieving victory I devoured said jaguar's heart while screaming "I am the Walrus" in the style of Jim Carrey across the Serengeti.

Here's an artist's interpretation of that fight:
Image
It happened at night time...

Shortly after I had completed the stages of their ritual of 'sound giving' Abayomi (the leader of the triumvirate of witch doctors) started laughing hysterically. When I inquired as to why, almost immediately, Dabir and Zo joined him in his manic laughter and told me that screaming "I am the Walrus" in the style of Jim Carrey wasn't really part of the ritual; they just wanted to see if I'd do it. Oh how we laughed.

You had to be there I guess...

Anyway, that's how I got my sound.... Actually... In hindsight... I think that might have been a dream... I'm not sure, you'll have to do some crack and fight a jaguar to find out.

Also, I agree with what Teknicyde said.

Kromestar, idk if he's on the forums, but his management agency is. I can't think of some whose more diverse, musical, or solid production-wise.

Koan Sound would be phenominal!!

I agree with Teknicyde, although I'd be able to answer most technical questions and have some techniques that are my own, I don't have any industry experience and I don't promote myself properly.. My production is for fun and interest so a whole Q&A wouldn't be very useful!

Plus, it is fun to get a little star struck when you see who is doing the Q&A.. I can't imagine many getting star struck over me!

But I'm definitely carrying on with my YouTube channel so my input is contributed that way

What would be interesting is one of the OG producers. Mala/Coki/Loefah/Kode9/The Bug would be great. Pretty much anyone from the Deep Medi and Hyperdub camps.
How impossible would it be for someone like Zed Bias, Benny Ill, MJ Cole, El-B? Someone like that would be pretty amazing. Basically someone who had a hand in pioneering dubstep and has watched it grow from its infancy. I suppose I might as well ask for an Aphex and Burial Q&A too while I'm at it eh?

But I'm here all the time anyway, so a bit pointless, just ask a question/thread and, like Michael Jackson, I'll be there.

I spoke to Joker and he's up for it, I will have a word with Phaeleh, I reckon he'd be happy to do it, if he's got time. I asked Pev already, he's not keen.
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

I wish I had seen some relevant guest lectures when I was at college!

Joker would be wonderful, endless questions about synthesis/melody for that guy.

Ajapai would be awesome. I'd love to know how he pans and does all that crazy stuff. I doubt he would give that away though.

I'd happily do one of these if people were genuinely interested in hearing me tell you to just stick more reverb on it! ;)

So Phaeleh and Ruckspin are up for the next two then? Where are the production forum mods, lets get something started!?
