Noob friendly way of isolating vocals?

I went to the link on the dubstep production guide but i really cant understand how to do it. can anybody newbify me a way of isolating vocals from a track using fl studio 10?

Nope. Not trying to be an ass, but it's pretty difficult. There are some tricks that work *sometimes* , but that is about it.

If you haven't tried googling vocal isolation VSTs, try it. There are some out there, but I have no idea how well they work. My best advice is to hit a second hand store and buy cheap, old records and slice out snippets where you can, works well for my needs...but then again I don't care much about remixing pop tunes.

Download audacity.
Import the track you want to isolate the vocals from.
Spilt the track into two separate tracks (on for each side of the stereo)
Then, flip the (left I think) audio track into the right one and recombine.

i heard audacity only works for remove the vocals not isolating them but i'll give it a shot

Half assed video by myself on extracting vocals. It never works perfectly but as i explain in the vid it gives you something to work with. I very much doubt you can ever get JUST the pella using this method, but there aren't a lot of other ways to do it otherwise.
