i remember i was in london when i was about 13. Me and my friend went into a mcdonalds, and i thought i'd order my food in a british accent. told her what i wanted, and her first response was "you're from the states, arent you?"

i was shocked that i sucked so bad :D never again... never.... again.

suffice to say, i too, have picked up a variety of slang from different countries over the years, but im not about to start talking like im from the UK anytime soon.

i aint no gwennyth paltrow/ madonna

:lol:

him: Cool, when does it start? whats it like?

i for one like using african american and british slang without the accent:

:::with country-western drawl:::

"what is up my peeps. how is it hangin'? that party last night sure was bangin'. i'm gonna ride my shorty to my crib and hang with my homies drinking gin and juice. YEEEHAW!"

nothing pisses me off more than a white kid from the suburbs who talks like he's from south central LA except a white kid from the suburbs who talks like he's a yardie. way i see it many slang terms seem more fitting for discussing the things they were invented to describe, but that doesn't give me the right to impersonate someone else's accent.
