Ableton Drum Templates
I'm trying to recreate a drum template just for the use of more personalization.
What I'm closely trying to make is a pre made drum kit in Ableton.
If you go to Library > Clips > Drums > Electric. Those are the kit templates I want to know how to make; Other than just editing those.
I just like the use of having all my sounds separate while having return tracks all in the same main track.
I don't understand between midi/audio tracks and sends, how they are arranged in the main track.

Load a drum rack, drag and drop all your drum sounds, and hit the save button (the little round disc logo on the top of the drum rack)......?
Re: Ableton Drum Templates
Here, It's like there are the each separate sample within the drum rack. Also note the returns within the drum rack too. When I try to create it myself, there is no options to insert the separate samples up there. I think I'm just going to try and make a blank template from one of these though.

Re: Ableton Drum Templates
Those types of racks are very useful, I use them all the time
Just follow this tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceBYM9ewDww
Obviously though, if you want it to be the same as in the image, instead of using a rack to layer just kick sounds, use a whole drum kit

Re: Ableton Drum Templates
there's an option in the drum rack to show the returns, you can either drop fx in there or you can right click "add return chain" and then link that return chain to the global return channel thus giving you control over individual elements.
Re: Ableton Drum Templates
Oh I got it. I just had to create chains.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Ableton Drum Templates
setting up the drum racks-impulse combo with return chains hooked up to global returns on my default template was best thing i ever did. the control drum racks gives you is ridiculous, so flexible.

six months before i saw that save buttontylerblue wrote:Load a drum rack, drag and drop all your drum sounds, and hit the save button (the little round disc logo on the top of the drum rack)......?
