Question about 2 pieces of hardware...

Post by almostskate100 » Wed Sep 14, 2011 6:38 pm

Hey,

So I'm looking at getting these two pieces of equipment:

A cheap turntable so I can sample old vinyl records:

And this Focusrite Saffire 6 Audio Interface:

I was wondering if anyone had an experience using either of these pieces of hardware. I currently am using a MacBook, Ableton, an AKAI MIDI keyboard, and 2 MAudio BX8A monitors, so I think a decent audio interface is the next logical piece of equipment that I need. The turntable is more for creative purposes, and I was mostly just wondering if the quality of the turntable drastically effects sampling quality. Thanks for any feedback

I think the needle/cartridge is what's most important when it comes to quality output.

I don't have the Saffire 6 but I can definitely vouch for the Saffire Pro 24. Hasn't failed me in any way, shape or form.
