Departure of the bat sounds pretty nice man, really refreshing (sample?) on the intro. Liking the drumwork too
Do you say zerbaman? Or do you say zebraman?

I agree w/ heartless and wub on this one too.. basically feedback from someone who "knows their shit" and doesn't "know you". They're names get mentioned a lot here but I've heard before that Zomby and Burial used to send hundred of tracks to kode 9. I know there are very few people with a connection to that kind of "music knowledge holder" or whatever you want to call him but it's very important to get feedback from someone who knows a little bit about the field your in. I see the opposite of this all the time living in America because I'll show some of my beats to my friends who want Dave Matthews esque stuff that has a "positive lyrical message" and they'll hear them and look at me like I've got a million heads. Sadly (not really), there is no Mr. Master Bass that you can submit your tunes to and he'll give you a graded sheet in return listing all improvements to be made.. Just have to keep going and make the tunes you honestly want to make

feedback to me is honest critique and thoughts be it on mixdown or things to add or just someone saying it has a solid mixdown but i don't like the tune. honesty imo
i hate went someone asks for feedback and then gets hostile or defensive when you mention to change something or you don't like something
it seems like some people just want views to their soundcloud or meaningless comments or plays rather than something constructive
why i don't hop on aim anymore as i hated dealing with that bs

@wub no wonder you have only 13 comments...you have only 3 tracks uploaded and dont have a soundcloud link anywhere on your dsf profile

btw, just added 5 comments to your comment count. you are now at 18 comments! :h:
...in my opinion

Quality control, plus I've never seen the point in putting up WIP or stuff I'm not 100% happy with. And one of those is a DJ mix, so technically 2 tracks.

It's better that way.

"Feedback 4 Feedback?" always bugs me. It shouldn't feel like an obligation.

It's a question with a very subjective answer. Which is individual taste of massive amounts of people. I think after seeing people I look up to being disemboweled by music critics and reading about all the roadblocks they came up against just trying to simply be heard, it's helped me let criticism and praise both go down the same drain. Obviously if what people thought meant absolutely nothing, you would keep all your music to yourself for personal enjoyment.

I guess in the end you put something out there, hope other people might find something they enjoy about it. I like the idea of it relating to people. Making them excited about it the same way music made you excited and got the ball rolling for you. Not really into the idea of expression being used as a pedestal to make someone seem superior to others.

It's always nice to have somebody give you a compliment. I've never really made electronic music that would work in a club. It's just never been my intent. Most of the people I know who listen to electronic music tend to lean toward music that does work in a club. So it's very nice if they can appreciate something going for a different aesthetic than trying to make people dance. If they don't like it, I can understand that it's not for everyone. They probably wouldn't like music I wish I could make if I were talented enough.

at this point i just pop up clips maybe after a day of work of an idea and maybe pop a clip of something done time to time, but don't spam it.
if it's done i pop it up on my youtube or bandcamp for pay what you want free or whatever unless it's part of a project
i'm past the point of feedback for feedback etc
i just want to share tracks and make them available for people and chat with like minded producers when i do pop on aim or email back and forth
none of this scratch my back i'll scratch yours or subscribe and i will bs that seems to drive and lull a lot of modern artists into thinking they are big (on the internet)
i alwasys laugh at the ploys that work with some lesser known people but big on the net like 100 more likes and this will be a free dl and you see someone with a solid career just posting up clips and new stuff with a quarter of the followers, but when it drops they get attention
