faceyboook

Post by k_k » Mon Sep 19, 2011 8:47 pm

i've always avoided it but i want to get into promo stuff and perhaps when i have resources a small local label, i'm thinking right now this is pretty much unacheivable without facebook today, i mean i like to communicate with my friends on my phone or in person, but in terms of spreading the word, inviting people etc. invaluable, no?
what're your experiences, i know theres a few DIY peeps on here

Its pretty much essential for promo of a night or an artist now unfortunately. Just keep all your personal information except for a select group of close friends.

honestly - the reason I bought my first computer
was to keep up with events..

so during the work week -I didn't have to make a trip to the record shop just to grab flyers..

I still prefer shopping for records over the phone vs computer because a real person can...
get you to your style faster and skip the needle to the breaks and stuff...

...although I haven't had money for records in a very long time.

I use it to promote my nights, I think it's essential now. But just don't totally rely on it, printed promo is just as important.

Aye they really do enjoy changing it too often and they always seem to make it worse. I don't see the need for this 2nd news feed above the chat now. It seems like it's just a way for people to be even more nosey on it now.
