Exeter sees the birth of a new underground night going by the name Big Like House. The night’s focusing on the Uk Funky / new wave of bass heavy house that’s exploding all over the UK right now.
Switching things up with a new venue and game plan BLH have moved to the Cavern Club with a series of events lined up featuring some exciting names from the UK Bass scene.

22 year old Hackman’s been one of the most rewarding artists to emerge from the UK’s ever-shifting dance music landscape in recent years: we first profiled him in January of 2010, and since then he’s continued to impress, with sublime singles for PTN (‘More than Ever’; ‘Made Up My Mind’), various remixes and now a new EP for Greco-Roman that features some of his best tracks to date.

Close is the summer tune of 2011. Skream Annie Mac & Nick Grimshaw have all been building the hype Hackman's epic title track Close. Probably one of the best pieces of, bass driven vocal dance music this year. Cheekily sniping the Alicia Keys acapella from 'No One' and employing the pitching down technique Hackman compliments the vocal riff with layers of heavily clapped out garage breakbeats, and tops it off with a euphoric, futuristic grime bassline that rolls out like an Atlantic breaker. It's not just close, it's perfect.
