I'd say people are telling you how they feel. I think perhaps you're just not getting people to jump in your specific boat? ...I dunno man, b/c see for me, you said it already. "inb4 it's all music man". I'm sorry but that's how I feel about this thread. Zerb said it well too with vibes. I think that there is something to be said for a slower vibe (1/3) rhythm vs 4/4, though sometimes it's fun to alternate in the same track. I LOVE the synths found in trance and the power of chords and emotion. But I ALSO absolutely love even more the bass drops of heavy grimey sounds found in a lot of commercial dubstep. I don't know if anyone has noticed now, but on beat port glitch hop is now a listed genre. It's funny to me b/c I was introduced to "glitch hop" in 2008/9 and could only find it by searching for "dubstep"....just sayin man, when you put it like that, it's all about music and drums. (personally I've come to believe that the power of drums exceeds that of any other element in music). Different topic of convo though, as this is YOUR thread. So, i'd say you've recieved legit posts on your thread with substantial and realistic opinions from people. And to be honest man, your tunes are quite unique, and you give a lot back to this community. Personally, I think you're above letting feedback get to you. Personally...I'd love to be at your level. How does that make you feel? Keep it up my friend.

It's edm people. Nuff said. Anything else is just the mind trying to describe what it's hearing. Why ? It's all badass.

Dubstep is everything. The movie I watched the other night was dubstep... when I sleep, my dreams aren't actually dreams, they are dubstep.

HA

seriously. Dubstep is a type of electronic dance music and if a particular piece has no relevant ties to the genre of electronic music, IDM, whatever... then how can it be described as dubstep? this is some serious 'every race is the sameeeeee,' nonsense. Not trying to be rude, or make any blanket statements, but let's say, someone from Mexico was called Portugese. Some characteristics may hold true between Mexicans and Portugese (humans, two legs, darker complexion, yadaaayadaaayaddaaa), but you can't call them the same nationality. You can call them both humans! You can call them both bipeds! You can call them both good people for contributing in a positive way to their respective communities, but you can't call them both Mexican!

no, black is not white.
no, a cat is not a dog.
no, something that isn't dubstep, isn't dubstep.

Some pretty unoriginal responses up in this mafah of a thread.....

OP - i empathize with ya - sounds like you are making tunes with imagination and originality,

BUT - its all just "Snawstepp" to the robot brigade

Well I personally am Pro-robot-on-robot-butt-love, but that's just me I suppose.

to the OP: Have like all the tunes I've heard from you btw (just a little arse-kiss for ya). But I honestly don't get that much into the debate of what's what genre cuz I listen to too much damn music for that. I guess for me it's not as big a deal if my tunes were labled by some other name but that's just me. I produce tunes of all kinds, from hip hop to glitch to dubstep to dnb etc (not saying they're good mind you, but I produced them). Now obviously I plugged them into a certain genre for convenience sake but in the end of the day I'm focusing more on what sounds good to me (I'm not saying that you arent doing this, this is just a statment of my stance), rather than what genre. Not trying to say that my music transcends any genre, because it's far to shit for that, but my focus isn't on one particular sound. This probably sounds like the ramblings of a moron (which it is), but that's my 0.02.

Ok. Kaiori I was on your side the last two days (reading this from Ipod with no ability to see/hear your Sig “The Ocean In You")… However after listening…   NOT DUBSTEP. Period.

LOL You and James Blake have lost it.

That is Elevator Music at best.

:z:

Might as well call Mozart Dubstep too, honestly genre names don't mean anything, just labels for people to know what's the in thing to listen to right now.
