I'm a biter not a writer

Post by 2dark4u » Sun Sep 25, 2011 9:26 pm

So PSY:AM - Crack your knuckles is being release in the coming weeks...

But isn't it blatant rip of Skream - Frogga / Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum ?

Check the Skream video from about one minute onwards. Obviously massive respect to Skream as an inspiration in the scene for many djs and up and coming djs for his style pf production, but just felt this was a bit of a blatant rip off......a bit too plagiaristic.....nothing personal to Stinkahbell but i think dubstep has always been about creativity, theres space for all styles, no need to bite someone elses.....

It's very probably a coincidence. There are only so many sounds, notes, and programs--90% massive--and thousands of tunes being created/released each year, dubsteps 10 years old, something was eventually going to sound similar to something else.

someone pointed this out in a post a while ago, but these tunes

sound almost exactly the same, and i'm pretty sure cyrus and n-type weren't stealing from distance/vise versa.
things like that happen all the time.

But if you make track A in earnest, later, someone says "Hey you ripped off Track B" (despite never ever hearing track B) have you actually ripped it off?

This is a tree falls in the forest question...

yea i struggle to find anything semi-decent on there anymore.... i usually end up looking through beatport for hours and end up only finding 5 or 6 tunes i actually like (and half of them are in the 'house' section lol)
