where i heard of Drive, State of grace and plenty of other sick films. my TV has no aerial going to it so luckily i dont ever get tempted to watch the endless amount of crap on it

Take Quentin Tarantino, Andrzej Sekula's (collaborator DP)'s gritty visual style (Reservoir Dogs = day seemed grittier than usual / Armored (2009) his other DP work, for some night scenes), add in a bit of Michael Mann, European arthouse cinema, 80's B-Movie aesthetic, Film Noir / Neo Noir, and hyper-real violence into the mix and = DRIVE.

Fucking still can't get over it. That was damn great.

Glad to see this film getting so many props. Tried discussing it with one of my mates. His response was "Shit. Hardly any driving considering it was called Drive"
