Youll be good, just dont try to play with any of the new features if you dont know them, the interface/layout of it will be really familiar to you, youll just have loads of new effects in the menu + a card slot if you wanna save carrying your CD's.

Do a quick google image search, look at em.

thank you! my friend said that if you touch down on the top of the jog wheels and spin them it reacts differently than spinning from the side, do you know what he's talking about?

they have the same basic features which is probably all you'll need, so yeah if you get a quick soundcheck before hand you might be able to get familiar with a couple of newer features but they are much more advanced than cdj 200's.

the 2000s feel a tad different than 1000s and way different than any other cdjs. the display menu can be a little confusing, i would actually recommending downloading the manual just to familiarize yourself with it, and also watch a couple of youtube vids on them so you arent surprised when you walk up and think "wtf do all these things do?"

since you are coming from 200s, i would recommend staying away from using vinyl mode or using the platter much, until you can get a chance to practice a bit on them.

I thiiiiink there's a way to turn of the "scratch" or "vinyl" mode or whatever it's called. Isn't there a little knob or something that makes it so the jogs are exclusively for pitch bending?

Also OP you will be fine, the 2000's feel awesome. All Pioneer CDJs are pretty similar, they just differ in quality/bells & whistles/etc.

Good luck!!
