Help Looking for an effect!

guys in this video of Skrillex http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0MIxoM_o_8

at about 2:53 he starts tweaking an effect which kind of makes it glitch... or something... i am really trying to find how he did it, what it is and how to recreate it?

anyone who can help please respond!

Probably some kind of drum sound put into a granulizer so you get the grainy sound, then you can connect the speed or rate knob from the granulizer to your controller just like Skrillex does.

sounds like a beat reapeat/ looper to me. its just looping a really tiny part over and over again to get that glitchy sound.
