Just out of interest, how long have you been drawing? Do you have a specific tattooing style for the flash sheets you've drawn?

Did you put in the year of tracing flash sheets, making stencils and brewing up for the boss before you were allowed to pick up the machines to work on fake skin? I say a year, most tattooists will make their apprentices do this for at least 18 months before allowing them to go anywhere near a machine.

How long before you went from fake/pig skin to people?

Are you aware of all blood borne pathogens and how to avoid cross contamination and what to do in the event of needle stick with someone infected?

Since I was a kid
arktrix wrote:Do you have a specific tattooing style for the flash sheets you've drawn?
I haven't drawn any flash sheets - I just draw up a tattoo when people tll me what they want, and yes they get it drawn in my style

No, I've known the 2 tattooists for about 6 years. they asked if I wanted to learn and I did my first tattoo the second day I was there on the girl who is training me up
arktrix wrote:How long before you went from fake/pig skin to people?
never used fake skin. Did my first tattoo on my second day on a real person
arktrix wrote:Are you aware of all blood borne pathogens and how to avoid cross contamination and what to do in the event of needle stick with someone infected?
Yes. I also work in a private hospital for learning disabilities & mental health so I'm well aware of all those things and fully trained in what to do.

No worries man, don't take what I asked the wrong way. Just wanted to see whether you were serving a traditional apprenticeship or not! :)

honest opinion: i would do a lot more practice on fake/pig skin before doing more real tats on real people.

Anyone remember that guy on facebook that bought himself a tattoo gun and and went to work on his own left arm.
