I once (when I was very young) skimmed a stone across a pond and accidentally hit this majestic looking swan in the neck. Unfortunately it wasn't an instant kill and the swan thrashed around in the water with its neck bent in half for a few minutes before dying. It was quite a traumatising event as a child and I still feel terrible to this day.
