hmm name change

Just out of interest, how do people think my name is spelled?

I've always pronounced "Depone" "Dee P-own".. Definitely think you shouldn't change though after getting such good recognition for your music!

id say go for it honestly man, as you said, its the same basic keyword, so I doubt youd see a big dip...

I know of a depth one though, gonna be hard to not get tongue tied...

EDIT : Ascian... in reading, i always pronounced it 'A-sh-ee-un', kinda like 'Asian' with a funky accent

Took me ages to get Sharmaji right, for the longest time when I first joined my brain was demanding there be an 'N' in it... All for the better though, if he hadnt had to repeatedly correct me, Id still be oblivious to what awesome music SubSwara makes.

You could create a dictionary definition type thing on your page that shows the pronunciation. Just keep in the way it is. I mean think about it... how many people actually know how to pronounce sigur ros?

just keep it man. pretty sure there are plenty of big names out there that get mispronounced all the time too

That's the one! It is the name of a tribe who live along the equator and therefore have no shadow.. I quite like it! I got it by typing "cool words" into Google and it came up! Haha

Just keep the name Depone, since most people know you by that and your music is pretty damn good I would say stick to it, would be much harder for both yourself and the listener to keep up with you or any other producer changing their names all the time.

Dee Pone. Pretty simple. Good name imo. Definitely works good for crowd chanting "dee-pwn!, dee-pwn!" You just gotta make a song with yourself singing your name in a silly voice. "My name is... Depone".

And everybody knows you pronounce the first rando like 'rambo' and the second rando "ramboh".

yeah I wanna change my artist name too, but I figure it's a bit too late at this point (unless I change genres or get so big that I can afford to change the name). ah well.

Amazing replies! Im enjoying reading these, seems everyone more or less thinks the right pronounciation. Sticking to the original

I do also have a secret other alias thats not had any tracks to its name, but will feature another 'style' than my own, hopefully people wont be able to link the two..
