Haha hmm just an idea but Bass Face could be a good title hahaha such a grimey track man... gets the job done well haha

@Thegreatdanerrr Yeah as mentioned before simply adding a bass boost will only serve to distort your sounds out of control.

EVERYONE!!! When mastering, this sacred principle of "less is more" actually benefits you more in the end than if you were to have every sound loud as many think thats how you make sounds louder and more audible. Always!!!!! Always!!! Always! When you are EQ-ing do not go over more than 6db and always EQ the main track at 0db

If anyone has any specific questions always feel free to ask me!

@ filtersnake: Really dig the track,the vocals are pretty trippy
@RandoRando: I really like the glitchy sounds around the 50 sec mark, the track sounds good and fairly complex.
@sub_lox: the sub sounds kind of low to me at the 1.25 mark, listening on sennheiser 280hds. I do like where the track is heading however sounds good.

My new WIP still working on my last track but I wanted to step away for a bit before I went back to it. I'm really not happy with my drum programming skills, perhaps I should get a drum pad to play around with, I use an apc40 right now. Anyways here is the track, please be brutal, it is still very rough.

@jclarkiev I really enjoyed that haha quite an ambient piece :) Just EQ the kicks and claps, and the bass and any synth you have to they fit better together. This mixdown is good it just needs to sit together better. Its not bad all im saying is for example the beginning synth starts, then when the kick starts it sounds really far away from the entire track, and with the clap being even lower in volume they cant really be heard. I would say to just bring up the levels of the kicks and snares more, other then that really great job man!!

@SniperDubb I really like it man fucking epic! haha, all I would say is add a little more variation even on a deeper level! Very nice kicks, buildups, and in general song my friend :)

Here is the free 320 link to Ancient Dimensions for whoever wanted it I forgot man sorry! hahaha

Thanks for the input wizardd! my drum skill are really lacking, I will deff try to work on making them more present in the track. I shortened the track a bit and have worked on the transitions, I also brought the level down on the sine wave drop, I kind of liked the distortion it caused but it also hurt my ears, lol.

Your track is awesome really digging it.

@jclarkeiv - Nice track, sounds a bit like summat skream would make. always a good thing. 1 crit so far would be to take down the bass drop a bit sounds way to loud for me. Nice track though.

@mattdesl - I enjoyed this one. cant really find anything constructive to say you can improve on though massive positive for the track. great stuff so far

@R3N3gAD3 - Sounding okay so far. a couple of things id say is to take a bit of reverb off of the cymbal and take the level of it a touch higher not so much that its over powering but just so you notice it more. Could do with more sub bass as well but thats just a personal prefereance of mine.

@DookieHowserOG - Liked this track a lot the lead was good but i feel you need to make the drop a bit more dramatic it just felt to me that it went lead then bam into the track. still good mind not saying its a bad thing but out of personal preference i feel it should of had a build up. bass is great drums sit well with it aswell had me bopping my head. great stuff

Here's my WIP havent really been concentrating on music recently so Im a bit rusty crit is deffinately welcome im always willing to learn new techniques :)

Thanks geeza! I've already taken down the drops, they were way too loud, newest version is up on my soundcloud, I'm not sure if its ok for me to link it again so soon, don't want to crowd the thread.
I really like the vocal samples in your track, the snare is really cool too. Perhaps a little more synth once bass comes in, unless you are going for a more spacey sound, it is certainly very open.

Here is the latest version, Im still really not happy with the drums, but I'm also used to working with a real drummer so I've never really had to think about drums.

Well I wouldn't change your buildup at all Dookie just fully expand upon it and complete your idea and make it one fucking insane brainblasting experience my friend :)

I really truly enjoy the drop simply because every sound is cared for uniquely within its own respect, this is some awesome shit man!! Can't wait to be able to hear the finished product and remix it hahaha :)

@ - drdeft - Maybe the lead could filter in higher frequencies part of the time in and out? Not bad, but it gets boring and it isn't structured too well imo.

@ jclarkeiv - Yes your drums and everything else needs work. Have you read the gain structure thread? It's a good, easy to understand read. Also your track kinda wanders forever not accomplishing much. Also you might want to copy the structure of another song you like with the bars and phrases. Also using crash cymbals and buildups help break the monotony as well. Take 2 is better.

@ - sniperDUBB - I think your levels are pretty good. Every thing is clear, drums sound like where they should be.

@ - Geeza - A new technique you could use is right before the drop, still the build up, you could have your kick drum routed to a bus with a reverb on the bus track. Then you could put a filter after the reverb, and filter out the reverb from normal to nothing sweeping up the frequencies.

@ - DookieHowserOG - Nice intro! Wow, and very good drop. Love the snare and bongos. Maybe try to use the stereo field more for your basses, like certain variations wider than others.

Here is my second version of my WIP. Any feedback appreciated, but especially advice.

Thanks eldoogle, I have read the entire gain structure thread, before compressing and limiting the final master just to make the exported audio louder the track is usually peaking around -7db the drops cause it to jump to -2ish db. Copying another song would probably help quite a bit I will definitely try that. I'll try working on my mix some more to see if I can get it sounding any better. I do think it kind of sounds like boss fight music from a video game at them moment. Also I will most likely be adding vocals eventually.

@DookieHowserOG:

Cool intro. Drop is class. Bass sounds great, moves nicely. Really digging the production. :W:

@eldoogle

Intro is huge! That synth sounds insane. Vocal sample is nice. Was expecting a bigger drop, though. Good stuff.

@Riich

Another class intro. Is that a sample guitar, or are you playing that? Drop sounds great, the bass is a little harsh. Something in the high range is cutting through sharply. Drums sound great.

135 BPM "Swarm"
Just a rough mix and composition. Haven't posted anything new in a minute. I'll add some variations after feedback. Cheers!

@DookiehowserOG...Wow... what can I say... hahaha that is pretty damn awesome I really like the rework of the buildup. I mean I enjoyed that last buildup solely because it was like literally the colors red and blue although opposites they complement each other very well.
@eldoogle Man that is a really really really really really sick track! there's your feedback... wapow! oh and all I would say is EQ that sucker :) bring out all the fragrances of all the sounds. This is such a sweet track :) awesome kicks too!
@Riich.., thats so trippy hahaha I like that a lot! DEfinitely EQ the kicks and bassline so they fit well together, EQ-ing is a very important thing to get very strong clear sounds :)
@Jetpak I super completely absolutely like that very much, I would just say have more of a thud sounding kick like with more of a solid body to it, nothing too far off from what you have Really chill though man!!!

@Everyone LOL

Here is my new track just finished up lemme know what you all think :)

@eldoogle Thanks for the advice will definately take that in mind, its all about learning new techniques off of other producers.

I like the track you posted but i think it needs summat else in there to make it sound more 'complete' if you catch my drift. maybe a few fx in there but not so much that it gets overpowered. But thats my personal opinion i dont know what you wanna do with the track. I also think the ride is a tad too high in the levels id take it down a touch and add a shaker in there, at some points i was finding i was paying more attention to the ride than anything else. Great well produced track so far. i cant really give a good critique cos im not that experienced on the tech side of production but the melodies and arrangement are all good from what i can hear. i hope this helps :Q:
