Vocal samples?

Post by ChillingSpree » Wed Oct 12, 2011 7:37 am

Where do you like to find vocal samples? Is there a website you like? Vinyl or CD samples? Do you make your own vocal samples?

I've been trying to find a decent source for clean vocals for ages! Really hard to come by, on some serious level. I'de really love to hear what people have to say too.

We have a number of threads on Vocal samples and where to find them that be of help;

Samples and Vocal Samples Where Can You Find them. - http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.p ... ilit=vocal

If you're looking to buy a pack, Loopmasters do several good ones depending on what you're after. For free vocals, freesound.org has a lot to look through. Finally, there is also a free pack of Rasta vocals available here - http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.p ... asta+vocal

Well, anywhere really. Try your mind a little, do some exploring. Look for acapellas, they're anywhere if you're nosy enough. B-sides of rare vinyls, in strange russian warez-sides, from remix-competitions held by the owners of the stims (band, label, so on). Theres also a bunch of sample-packs with loads of well-recorded vocals,http://www.loopmasters.com got loads of free demos of their samplepacks if you register, you could get a heap of vocal-samples if you just grab enough of freebies (Got myself some drums from there, love 'em).

To really stand out from the crowd, like a bunch of other people probably would tell you, you ought to grab a mic and just record some of your own. If anything just to have them their, som original content, to combine with all the comercial stuff you've gathered from the internet and vinyl.
Burial isnt dubstep, fuck off.

YouTube is great for spoken words or chopped up vocal cuts. For singing vocals I recently tried using text to speech (loquendo, it's also a translator) then I used newtone to get it to the pitch/timing I wanted (melodyne would work too) finally I vocoded the whole thing. It was a fun experiment, but I'm not totally happy with it.
