A few tips for recreating this bass? (FL users are a plus)

Post by sovietsoldier22 » Tue Oct 11, 2011 6:57 pm

Assuming I'm identifying it correctly as bass and not just a lead of some sorts

It kicks in for this song at around 0:30 seconds.

Ignore the fact that it's Deadmau5, Prog House, and I'm posting this in a Dubstep forum. I'm just a curious guy and you guys have the best answers out there for me when it comes to EDM production.

Any and all help is appreciated.

it's layered. normal overcompressed/saturated saw wave for the bass and something that sounds kinda fm-ish layered on top of it getting more and more extremely modulated over time.

There is a thread dedicated to sound design questions;

How to make this sound... - http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=215199

You might get a better response from there 8)

Thanks, Wub. I am aware that there is a thread for it, but I'm always worried my post is just gonna get completely lost and forgotten there. But if you suggest it, I'll give it a shot. :4:
