You guys heard of Tom Cosm?

Post by acrap » Thu Oct 13, 2011 10:38 pm

Whats up guys i was just browsing through videos on youtube and found this guy named Tom Cosm, he has a series of 10 videos on introduction to digital audio production, the first 2 videos are up on youtube and they're an hour long each. I just purchased his 10 part series cause i liked the first two so much. Anybody heard of this guy ? and also wondering if it was a good investment on my part.

I haven't watched any of the hour long ones, but he did have a short 10 min vid of some techniques and tips for playing live that I found interesting. He seems to be pretty knowledgeable. I haven't listened to his music other than the intro/outro of the vid and it seems okay. A lot of tribal stuff in the one I heard.

Hope the rest of his vids are good!

yeah well i'm really new and i absolutely HATE reading i learn alot better through videos so even though this doesnt focus particularly on dubstep since it says intro to digital audio production it can be used for any electronic genre.

Tom's 10 part series was pretty much the first thing I watched when learning production.
Really good if you are learning Ableton Live but it can all transfer over.
Definitely sets you on the right track and well worth it for the small amount of money you have to spend.
His Youtube channel also has a lot of helpful content too http://www.youtube.com/user/cosmcosm

His tutorials rule. Another guy to watch out for is Mr. Bill. Bill's stuff is a bit more geared toward advanced users.
