Hooking up KRK's through an audio interface
Okay so I need some help hooking these bad boys up. What I have right now is a pair of KRK Rokit 5's and an M-audio Fast Track Pro, also I got some XLR to balanced cables to connect the two.
I installed the latest driver for the M-audio but I have no clue as to what to do next. My mac recognizes the M-audio but claims there is no output. I tried to connect some RCA cables to the M-audio but that just gave me some weird hiss type noises.
Long story short I have no fucking clue where to go from here, hence my title as noob is thoroughly deserved.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

could have spent more time with audio production then fighting dayman, nightman. There`s a thingy with m audio where you have to install the drivers first, reboot and then install the card or connect it. Maybe thats it.
Re: Hooking up KRK's through an audio interface
Yep, dat there dayman is a nasty lil' fellar, alright.
Thanks for your anwser, it's still not working though. The weird thing is, when "installed" it, I only seemed to install a lite version of ableton, no actual anything for M-audio really.
Guess I'll head over to the M-audio forum than.

Re: Hooking up KRK's through an audio interface
when you go into ableton have you selected it in the preferences?
Re: Hooking up KRK's through an audio interface
There's something in preferences in ableton under Audio I believe where you choose between the computer's outputs and other pieces of hardware, I believe ableton recognizes them based on drivers. Should be a little drop down bar saying something like "M-audio USB"
If it's not showing up in ableton, I'd say try a different driver. With newer OSes and older hardware, drivers can be fickle.

I do believe you used the wrong disk. I may be wrong but all the hardware that I've ever got that comes with free software has the free software on a different disk to the drivers. If you can't find it then head here -> http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support&tab=driverNightman wrote:Yep, dat there dayman is a nasty lil' fellar, alright.

Select USB Drivers - Fast Track Pro - Your OS, should be simple from there, remember to unplug your interface before you start the installer, then replug to detect and install then restart before using.

I am using this same set up but with TRS cables... also, make sure you go on the Maudio site and update your drivers. and make sure you installed the right disc that came w the fastrack pro
also, double check your audio out in the preferences menu
