Artists ... would you pay for Soundcloud training?
So, myself and my small development team have been working with SoundCloud (not directly, but with the platform) and have put together some saucy software.
I am not giving too much away at the moment, but it will build up your user base legitimately with legitimate fans, comments, and plays. You ever seen players that are rammed with comments? My software will do that.
No fake accounts. No false comments. Nothing illegitimate.
We're going to put together a seminar to showcase the software, and show you LIVE what it can do. We are also planning to put together a training course on how to market properly with Soundcloud.
My own account does not reflect the software before anyone wants to comment on that. I've not used the software with my personal account because I'm not ready for the sort of exposure the software will give you. I will however be demonstrating it's usage, and showing what it can do in the seminar with live results.
Before we go head first into this, I want to see what people in the Dubstep scene think about something like this.
If I was to say $97 for the training DVD course and the software would you think that was too much?

You don't need SC training, you just need to be a beast.

You could have biggest tree in the forest but if nobody's there to hear it fall it's not making a sound.ChadDub wrote:You don't need SC training, you just need to be a beast.

The comments won't all be hate from being spammed, will they?
no but seriously, you said you're developing software and a training course... so does that mean you have to be trained to use the software? It's not automated?

Re: Artists ... would you pay for Soundcloud training?
$97 seems pretty legit for the software plus instruction, as long as the methods themselves are fairly legit and get results. 97 is the magic number hah!

I reckon it'd sell.
I personally wouldn't buy it, but that's because I'm too skint.

Nothing. Make tune, Upload said tune to soundcloud, Add said tune to appropriate group then let listeners enjoy it, soundcloud served it's purpose

Possibly, but I think that's a bit steep.

It's automated to some extent, BUT, it's legit. It's not spam, and I've yet to see a bad comment being posted.knell wrote:The comments won't all be hate from being spammed, will they?

The software has a number of features. There is the option to abuse what's on offer, as with anything in life, but with the training it'll detail the methods involved.

If you're cloning Skrillex maybe. If you want comments and fans from anybody other than kids you're going to have to target your listeners a little more.Pedro Sánchez wrote:Nothing. Which is what every soundcloud user does. And it don't work that way. That's not the way you fill your player with comments and amass a number of fans UNLESS you're already a big name.Pedro Sánchez wrote:GV1 wrote:If you're cloning Skrillex maybe. Non of my methods involve using groups at all.
Re: Artists ... would you pay for Soundcloud training?
I've never gone into a SC group looking for music.

I'd be more impressed if your soundcloud tune in your sig had more comments. (I wouldn't really, just think it'd be a better advert for the system you're proposing if you can show its worked for you).
comments don't really equal actual fans or quality or likelihood of getting signed, I doubt very much hyperdub pay any attention to the amount of soundcloud comments when signing someone. I'd said on another thread but Lohan (S&D) had some quality tunes on soundcloud and hardly any comments, same with Ian Pooley, but you can go to some brostepping kid that has spent days commenting and asking for comments back and bumping their tunes in groups all the time and they'll have loads of comments....i don't think it really makes much difference to success, only in the pokemon 'collect all the comments' sort of way.

So you are forcing people to make comments on people players who have bought your software? or are you pumping their stuff into inboxes?GV1 wrote: Non of my methods involve using groups at all.

Re: Artists ... would you pay for Soundcloud training?
Soundcloud was a way to share music with like minded, not a hype machine. My Opinion, I'm sure there will be people willing to spend money as a way of furthering their dubstep careers.

Re: Artists ... would you pay for Soundcloud training?
Nope. I don't need 100 people to tell me my shit music is good. This scheme will only waste producers time. If your music is good it will get comments if not no point faking it.
