Was never into Jakes, I only like Time Ends from him. I just go for Coki and Bar9.
bar9 is midrange crack. You realize this right?

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I love bar9 but it is most certainly brostep.
Listen to some older bar 9. Used to be bridge the gap really well.

Triple drop IS absolutely "brostep"! That sounds like so much of the "filth" today. It's a great track, but if people are gunna make the argument that they hate brostep so much, then don't bring up bar9, because they helped pave the way for the sound that everybody loves to bash nowadays. And as far as being melodic, they're certainly no more melodic than your average skrillex track. (obviously this comment is directed mainly at ultraspatial, not you icanicant )
I agree Piano Tune ain't that good and, also, their remixes for pop songs are shit, but there's a huge difference between what Bar9 did and the brostep we know today. Maybe they did pave the way for brostep/filth, but Datsik & co are the real culprits imho.

Don't care what anyone says, love this tune:

It may be 'bro' but its raw and gritty as fuck unlike this 'filthy-yet-clean' shit that gets pushed lately

Agreed but I wouldn't agree with the age thing. I'm 19 and got into electronic music because of my brother being hugely into jungle whilst I was growing up. It's got nothing to do with age. Dubstep was created to be intelligent. I see plenty of 25+ raving about "brostep". It's just a dumbed down watered down version of the real thing.
Yeah probably a bad age range considering I'm 17. XD But I used that number because literally 0 people my age listen to actual dubstep here.

Triple drop is not brostep. It maybe helped influence the brostep today, but triple drop is nothing more than filthy dubstep. That's my opinion. I like bar 9.

for that i am ever thankful to "Brostep"
any one else here fall into this beautiful world that way aswell?

(kind of a lil jab at the brostep haters)
-cause i feel they deserve it. :6:
Same for me I entered the genre with brostep and eventually wandered in to what would be considered more of core dubstep.

Brostep is the gateway drug that leads to discovering "real" dubstep.

Honestly, I'm not even going to post on this thread because I know I would write at least 75 paragraphs on this. In summary, brostep = watered down, cookie cutter, and commercialized imitation of dubstep music which should not be considered dubstep. I call it electronic garbage. That's the official genre in my mind. Brostep is almost a pretentious statement of character. In that all these new hipster kids wanna look like they're into the newest and edgiest thing, so they ride the bandwagon of dubstep and cling for dear life at the bottom of Datsik and Skrillex's nutsack. It's a shame. They need to Learn about the depth of the genre and gain some Education. (all puns intended towards the tunes by Mala)

Honestly who cares anymore. I found dubstep in 2008 in sound production school. Before that I never listened to anything electronic, Ive seen this evolution of brostep and all it is, is another variation of dubstep. Just like i like trash metal but i dont like grindcore....

UKB is, or was, the genre for the new aged 4x4 that clearly is noting like the 4x4 Todd Edwards and Wookie was producing.

Exactly the same story though, different genre.
