Finally someone who is concerned about having the wrong idea about what dubstep is. Those skrillex licking youtube lurkers never
seem to mind or understand what it means when someone 'knowledgeable' of the subject tells them they are completely off.

Hubsmoke - Heroin Eyes
Datsik - Nuke em'
Datsik - Vanish
Datsik - Retreat
Datsik - Hydraulic
Mt. Edan Dubstep - Sierra Leone
UKF - August
Emalkay - When I look at you
Emalkay - Critical Hit
Emalkay - Fabrication
DJ Fresh - Hypercaine
N.A.S.A. - Gifted (Masuka Remix)
Flux Pavilion - Voscillate (Roksonix Remix)
Flux Pavilion - Excuse Me
Jamiroquai - Blue Skys (Flux Pavilion Remix)
Dj Fresh - Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion Remix)
Rusko - Jahova
Rusko - Woo Boost
Rusko - Hammer Time
Caspa - The Terminator
Deadmau5 Ft. Kaskade - I Remember (Caspa Remix)
Caspa - I Beat my Robot
Caspa - WHERES MY MONEY!
Zeds Dead - White Satin
Blue Foundation - Eyes on Fire (Zeds Dead Remix)

All this I have considered Dubstep and you're all telling me that I've been wrong this whole time and this is all actually brostep? Is there no real fine line between brostep and dubstep because most people here in America would consider all of that dubstep, hell most people in America consider Skrillex to be dubstep though I don't consider his songs to be in that genre at all.
As others have said, pretty much all of the above is dubstep, with the exception perhaps of the DJ Fresh Hypercaine tune; whether you want to pejoratively refer to it as brostep or not is subjective. A better argument to have would be whether the producers responsible for the tracks are any good or not, and leaving out Zeds Dead, Hubsmoke and Masuka all of them have at some point produced good music or still are. Caspa, Rusko and Datsik's new stuff is mostly rotten, but the first two at least had a major part to play in the popularisation of the genre. Flux Pavilion varies: the Gold Dust remix is awful, the Jamiroquai one isn't too bad, while Emalkay's stuff tends to be more hit than miss. Listen to what you like, regardless of what it's labelled as.

Hey come on, When I Look At You, Where's My Money and Jehova are dope haha.

Also, just noticed he referred to the August Mix as a single song by the artist 'UKF'. Just lol.

Since we were talking about retarded Youtube comments, I just saw this on Katy B - On A Mission:
I just think "dubstep" has turned totally lame, I love the classics, B-Complex, Ephixa, Skrillex, Modified Motion, UKF Dubstep.. Im just saying that "I think" (NOT YOU) that dubstep has turned lame, isnt that just my opinion? Umm, yes! (:
This is just a small snippet from an argument in which this guy insists that Skrillex has been making dubstep since 2002, continually refers to UKF as an artist and DnB artists as dubstep artists and claims that dubstep is all about bass drops but On A Mission has no bass :u:

No... have you heard Where's My Money on a big soundsystem? The bass is crazy, not cos of how heavy it is but how it feels, particularly from about 1:23. Definitely one of my favourite basslines of all time, and this is coming from someone who ranks Phaeleh, Distance, Kromestar, Burial etc. in his top 5. When I Look At You is very well produced, doesn't go for the stupidly generic 'filthy wobbles' like a lot of other brostep. Has some actual atmosphere and class, massive sub too.

Hear either of these tunes amongst a set consisting mostly of Flux Pavilion and Doctor P (or at least that's what it sounded like, fucked if I know) and you'll really hear the difference

i c what u did there ;-)

I like/play a few of those tunes still... "When I Look At You," "Fabrication," "Jahova," and I have a soft spot for that Deadmau5 remix. Right time/right place tunes. I think the whole "brostep" thing sort of, unfortunately, depends on the crowd it is primarily played to. If I judged it purely on music I wouldn't label "I Remember RMX" as brostep. Brostep to me is just plain aggressive, no atmosphere to it, no funk or bounce just soulless noise with an emphasis on "the drop". No brostep DJs play rollers. Everything has to build up and have a FILTHY DROP. Whereas producers like Jakes or Kromestar make sick tearout but it rolls nicely and has a lot of funk to it.
