John.D - Basswave [awful, awful music]

Post by ElSonido » Sun Oct 23, 2011 1:12 am

It has been a while.

It still needs vocals and some tweaking, but it's almost there.

That is NICE. I like the way you've switched in & out between the synth and the bass. Phat and nice imagination homie :W:

btw do you do your own mastering??

Thanks mate.

Sure do. Gradually learning how to get a decent sound. It's sounding alright but there's still so much to learn. This is a very rough mix though, as it is not close to completion.

Well if it sounds clear on soundcloud that says alot because they muffle down the sound quite a bit imo.

Is this one on your EP?

Nope, my little EP was pure chilled music. Also quite poorly produced by my current standards. This is part of a project in the works though. Aiming for completion by the end of the year and release sometime after.

This is badass man, great sounds. Loved the intro, it's different, original, but it sets up the track brilliantly. Nice one man.

Thanks guys.

As soon as I've got the vocals tracked it will be a complete track.

If you are wondering how I got the trumpet samples, it's sampletank free from IK multimedia. I just played the chords I wanted, ran them through some saturation and EQ plugins, bounced them down, and cut them up throughout the track. I wish someone had told me that months ago. So I'll share the idea.

Sampletank free (and the full version) is good, but run the stock sounds through some nice compressors, soft clippers/saturation and EQ and it turns into gold.
