What would your dream midi controller be?

Post by GV1 » Sun Oct 23, 2011 7:39 pm

Think crazy here, if you could have a midi controller to control your custom Ensemble, MSP patch, or even just your daw or VSTs what would you want your midi controller to do?

There are a number of various electronic components, such a potentiometers and light sensitive LEDs, body contacts etc. But, think outside the box. Think crazy.

I'm asking, because I've got an Ardino card and I've written an midi interface and controller for it. All that's left for me to do now is get creative with the components.

I seen the midi fighter boxes, but those are pretty basic really. A primitive controller. No idea why people got skitz over them and pay the silly $$ for something so basic.

I'll put up a tutorial video of how to create a midi interface with the Ardino and release the code once I've done it first. I just want to do something outside the box here.

I'd use the Lemur or TouchOCS to do something like that.

One that could be used live as a DJ controller but also had a midi keyboard and sampler built into it, so you could incorporate live performance into your sets easier. a trackerpad mouse like laptops have would be sick as well
