New monotrons ! (viva analogue)

Post by paradigm_x » Thu Nov 03, 2011 4:10 pm

Nice

THeres also a duo version, but no delay

Now neither (or any tbh) of the recent korg mono- stuff has been particularly mind blowing, but have sold like hotcakes so heres hoping for a wealth of new analogues.... outside the boutique stuff.

Yeah - while I agree that the Monotron isn't mindblowing.. I still would say I love mine fanatically, and like my Bugbrand postcard weevil and Stylophone, I couldn't live without.

None of the above are fantastic machines, but they are perfect at lil' extras that I use in my mixes all the time.

The delay one looks great for getting some quick hands on dubby fx and the likes. Hope the price is around 50 notes or less like the original.

i love my monotron :)

I bet the duo is capable of some great sounds, could be great for putting into a sampler and using it for melodic stuff instead of just FX

wouldn't mind one of those monotribe things...but then probably can find something better for the £160-odd they cost, i dunno.

was messing around with a groovebox style app and my HD bass generator the other day and started thinking i might do a live show that is the complete opposite to my studio stuff, just some drums and summat to do melodies/weird sounds and the HD bass to blow out the subs.

I just bought a monotron.
I really couldn't resist the temptation. Didn't have the money for the monotribe tho and I doubt I'll use it in my productions but the Monotron is (as my teacher electronic instruments would say) a gameboy for producers.

They're all tempting. And the fact that you can plug them together is also pretty cool. So you could use the basic one with the delay + extra filter off the delay one or whatever. You almost wish they'd gone further that way and done the delay thing as a pure effect.

Any one plus a looper pedal would be amazing, too...

I'm thinking I might get the monotribe if I have money left after christmas...

I think one place where they're going to be really cool is for people doing weirdy beardy all-hardware experimental type stuff - it'd be a great sound source to feed into a whole bunch of other samplers and things.

Monotribe on order!

And Digital Village currently seem to have a limited-time-only offer of chucking in a free monotron with every korg hardware order, so I get one of those as well!
