Volume LFO in Ableton??

Post by JTMMusicuk » Sat Nov 05, 2011 11:51 am

Does anyone know a way in ableton to put an LFO on the volume on a plugin, im using operator and i love the sub it gives out but i want it to have a bit of a wobble and operators LFO seems to mess with the pitch.
any help please?? without this it just sounds like i have made electronic jazz which was not in fact my main aim

In Operator click on LFO, then on the middle matrix you'll see LFO A linked to oscs ABC and D, as well as filter. Below that there's LFO B which you can click on to choose the destination. Just click on Main Vol and then adjust the lfo and that should work for you.

Hmm not sure, I know operator was updated at some point recently but I can't remember if it was in v7 or v8. Should be the same procedure anyway, just look for LFO B.

another way is to put an AutoPan in your FX chain, turn the phase knob all the way left or all the way right and adjust the amount knob

Will the phase completely cut the volume or is that why you use the amount function?

operator was updated in 8, can barely remember what old operator was like. read the manual and will tell you how to patch lfo to volume.

phase in auto pan won't cut the volume, but if the phase is set to 0, then the amount knob will

i never used operator in 7 cos it was fairly average, the upgrades in 8 however have turned into a beast of a synth.
