For anyone who's copy sounds
*ahem* distorted. I've emailed Vinyl Factory (those who sold said record) with a full length rip. Both mine and a friends copy sounded equally distorted, and quite honestly inaudible. Here's the reply, sure they won't mind me posting it up here.
There's not much you can do. I've effectively paid £25 for a sleeve with glitter on. Shame really.
From Vinyl Factory:
We've taken a listen through the metalwork, test pressings and final product and they all correlate; distortion of that kind isn't really a pressing issue. This suggests the lacquer was cut that way, and seeing as this was overseen by the artist's management, the test pressings passed, and the artists have had their copies without raising any issues, we have to assume that all is well with them.
Hope this helps anyone dissatisfied with the quality of their copies.

then sell it and make £50 for once upon a time owning a sleeve with glitter on it

I received my distorted vinyl today

I emailed TVF and cc'ed Transition. The distortions were so bad, I can't hear some layers. What's a Burial track without the layers? Plus, I told them that some people got good copies. This is a headache.

I'm really starting to wonder how bad it actually is for you people... Because I'm not really bothered by the way my copy sounds so is it worse for some people than it is for others?
Isn't some1 able to record a bit of the tune where it's most distorted so that we can all hear what you're talking about?
What exactly sounds distorted? Everything? Or just the vocals?

I'm not gonna claim that it's the cleanest cut ever, but mine really isn't too bad. Listened to it all the way through, and there wasn't a part where I thought "Jeez, this is awful!". Maybe I got off lightly?

Yeah same for me man.
I admit, it is indeed not the cleanest cut ever and some of the vocals do sound distorted, but it's definitely not unplayable as some others claim it to be.
That's why I wonder if some people's copy really does sound worse that other's...

this whole release sounds like it's just been a ballache from start to finish, i'm glad i didn't get a copy now, fuck it, don't even think the tunes are that good anyway now i've heard them a bunch of times. definitley not worth £25.
