Re: Getting into Techno
Who's making decent harder techno these days? Minimal has been done to death over the past decade.

Rivet stuff is really good, his remix of kowton on TEAL has just dropped and is big.
Re: Getting into Techno
The new Perc album Wicker & Steel was out earlier this year, if you like it dark, I recommend it:

The new Robert Hood 12" is ace too
The stuff coming out of the UK is pretty heavy I reckon, stuff like Blawan and A Made Up Sound is seriously punchy
And this recent number -
Re: Getting into Techno
god it's so weird actually taking a techno release on a dubstep label seriously
didn't think that would happen ever

Re: Getting into Techno
Why? A lot of those labels were moving in different directions anyways. Besides, the last few dubstep shows I tried to go to, these "former" dubstep people all played techno and house.Helix [Delay] wrote:god it's so weird actually taking a techno release on a dubstep label seriously

I actually welcome the fusions.
Re: Getting into Techno
Because I'm seeing well known techno guys releasing on dubstep labels like it's normal.mks wrote:Why? A lot of those labels were moving in different directions anyways. Scenes have blended together so much, I don't even understand how it happened. (Half my mixes are just dubstep slammed together with techno though, so whatever)

Re: Getting into Techno
Fuck scenes anyways. All about the masses who just collectively listen to and share good music

Unfortunately, I only know one other person, (a friend luckily) who's into good edm music. So basically most of my nights out end up being at those typical scene nights

Re: Getting into Techno
I always liked this release, couldn't find a youtube video for it though:
http://www.discogs.com/Brainswitch-Door ... se/1594847
Also, not sure if he's actually techno or not, but I've always loved this tune by Len Faki:
Edit:
Also, Kollektiv Turmstrasse are brilliant. Again, it's not 4 to the floor, so I'm not sure if it's techno or more generalized electronic, but brilliant none the less!

Re: Getting into Techno
I never want to call stuff by Blawan and that techno in fear of getting flamed by some elitist but when people ask me what music I listen to techno is actually a much better reference point for the majority of stuff I listen to than dubstep or just bass.

						Re: Getting into Techno
Can anyone recommend shit similar to this, really like the deep, dark style, like the Clairvoyants usually play on rinse:
