Re: ReachZenith - Dead Twinkle (WIP) (Dungeon/Space)
I think it definitely has major potential.
I think you drumbeats are lacking though.
You need a heavier subbier kick and I`d say replace the hat/snare on the 3rd beats with crash rather.
More emphasis on space and reverb.
Let your crash echo out.
It will focus the effect more imo.
Otherwise keep at it.
I quite enjoyed the vocal

Thanks much for the feedback, I really like the idea of an echoing crash...for sure going to try that out! I'll work a bit more on the drums as well, thanks again!

Re: ReachZenith - Dead Twinkle (WIP) (Dungeon/Space)
the key with minimal dungeon sounds is to always try to emphasize the emptiness.
So with that in mind you should try to build your rythums taking into account the fact that you're essentially producing in a large empty room.
Every sound will echo off of the walls and reverb back.
So when creating a drum beat you want to try and make each element as spacey as possible.
So you hat/snare on the 3rd beat sound dull, almost like it`s being played in a room ex-reverb.

What do you mean by ex-reverb? Like no reverb? or extra reverb?

Re: ReachZenith - Dead Twinkle (WIP) (Dungeon/Space)
no reverb ,
sorry
I meant excluding
I try to design my track in the space I`d envisage it to be in.
So when I`m creating say a jungle/rainforest type of vibe then I want my hits to bounce off of trees.
So your reverbs won`t just continue for ever, some will echo very wide while others while echo nearby.
But you`ll hardly ever have a sound without reverb unless the instrument is being played dampened.
Like putting a towel over the back of a drum, when you strike it it`s a thud rather than a boooom.
Get my drift?

Added more stuff to my newest song. Would love to hear some feedback...still not even fully structured yet.

Re: ReachZenith - Dead Twinkle (Space/Minimal/Eerie))
Anyone know how to get the popping noise my kick makes, every so often, to go away?
Re: ReachZenith - Dead Twinkle (Space/Minimal/Eerie))
Deadly intro man, that click noise sounds like time-stretching, could be CPU load? Definitely go for harder drums, maybe even a clap seeing as it's quite an atmospheric tune.

Well I did forget to mention that the popping only occurs when I load it into SounCloud but I never hear that on anyone elses songs. And I'll look at a clap with the snare...was the track to quiet?
Re: ReachZenith - Dead Twinkle (Space/Minimal/Eerie))
Oh well then it's most likely a SoundCloud problem, it happens occasionally. It's not the gain you need to worry about mate, as long as shit isn't red lining in the mix then it's fine

Thanks man, first song like that. Also nice YouTube Massive videos, opened my mind a bit more about what I should be doing with Massive.

Just took a re-listen and I`m licking your changes.
But as I said above, you need to replace the snare with a crash or a hit with more impact and snap.
