i probably like his music more because he is a prick, i like that fact that he doesnt give a shit what people think of him so bes a prick. yes he may have sampled that thing, so what, all he did was make a tune based around that thing cos he liked it, whats the harm in doin that? no one died! and yes it got released only because someone liked it and wanted to release it, he probably just made it cos he thought it sounded cool, and then it was snapped up. he makes sick music, but i dont really like his ciptune 8 bit stuff cos i think thats lame, but its still better than filth
I guess I can say I'm inspired by some of his stuff. A lot of Zomby's music is kind of strange in a way. Strange in the fact that sometimes it feels like you just got slapped right into the middle of a song and it sort of feels like you've missed something. It also sometimes happens with the end of a song as well. Some of them just end on a really weird point. It's over and you're sort of sitting there thinking, "Wait...what?". Not to say his music is bad, or uninspiring, it's just a strange thing that I picked up on when I listen to some of his stuff.

I was just listening to Fuck Mixing Let's Dance and I know exactly what you mean. Just kinda ends abruptly, I thought it was a play off of the title but I guess some of his other songs do that too.

It's kind of an old technique, similar to fading out. The basic idea is to leave people wanting more, and it kind of makes you feel weird too, like JBE mentioned, so it sticks in your head. Also calls for some rewinds!

Yeah I find that that helps me want to listen through the whole album as it makes it more continuous. The first few times I listened through it the abrupt stops were jarring but after I got used to them they just helped the album cohere. Where Were U in '92? is still one of my top albums in the hardcore continuum, hands-down.
