This Caspa dubplate keeps me up at night.

Post by 904step » Mon Nov 14, 2011 7:05 am

[taken from Caspa's Rinse FM show on 15/12/2010]

Ever since I since I first heard this I have been craving this to be released, but whether or not that ever even happens is a shot in the dark, all I know is that it is absolutely massive and I need it.
Caspa has been taking some flak recently, and I understand that people don't like drastic changes in sound from their preferred producers (constant "how could he go from Big Headed Slags to Sir Rock Alot" remarks and criticisms), but ever since I was introduced to Caspa's music I loved it and have high enough regard for him to respect anything he releases. Maybe one or two recent tunes that I am a bit shaky on, but after his latest EP it seems like the crowd as turned against him. I think it's hard to say that someone who can make a dub hit as hard as the dubplate posted above has lost dubstep credibility. I am just curious, what is your opinion on Caspa's productions, DJ mixes/live shows, or how his sound has changed along with the sound of the scene?

Do you know that tune Big Headed Slags? It's better than this.

I'd say it's pretty tough to make something better than Big Headed Slags, but I still think this tune goes hard. Ave It Volume 1 & 2 are untouchable. I think he still has it in him to make big tunes, maybe in a different way, but still big.

I can see him releasing a track that resembles these epic tracks we are talking about, I don't think the quality will continue to go downhill until it is complete garbage

That's neither here nor there, he made some incredible tracks and has changed his style completely. The point being that he is still capable of making tracks on that level even by taking a different route, in my opinion

Caspa is a bad producer,

Occasionally puts out one or two tunes that aint to my taste but who dosent,

Have got a lot of respect for a man who's been running a label and putting out tunes since he was like 18-19 ?

Plus, where's my money was the tune that got me into all of this if i'm honest so i like owe him for that anyways.

Meh, Caspa has a few good tracks but I've personally never rated him that much. Usually makes alot of boring tracks with the same drum beat/samples, doesn't seem to have much rhythm/groove.
