Adobe - Anonymous

With no limitations and boundaries, Adobe shows by being in both the audio and video aspects of Art. Coming straight out of Houston, Texas, he shows it with his southern style productions easily noticeable with the triplet high hats, unheard melodies and heavy heavy bass lines. Djing for more than 8 years has allowed him to travel, educate himself on the production side of audio, and with an early age of a "House" music influenced household, he is able to bring you multi genres of "Electronic" music.

"Anonymous" the title track is a pretty convincing slice of progressive house, with prim rimshots and everything else you'd expect. The initial melody is a kind of shrill bleating, which occupies most of the stage until the second half, when it's joined by the loops. As time goes on, the two writhe against each other, sounding more and more tortured. The percussion follows this lead, building to a clattering peak which seems to be the track's raison d'être. This it does well, the sound line defeating the bleeps and squelching sedately to the end.

John Ov3rblast hesitate to use such a strong term, but the remix is nothing short of annoying, samples make up the basics, but this time the melody is a short loop. Half yelled, half not, the indistinct snippet begins with an open-mouthed syllable—perhaps just the word "I"—which imparts a harsh, barking quality throughout most of the song. The middle offers respite, with a wobbly, coltish synth taking over. It's short-lived, however, with the vocal returning and bringing cascades of cymbals with it.

Franzis-D remix loading up his music with deep house signifiers, right down to the manipulated speech snippets, blunted chords and the laborious kick drum. It's a good look for a producer who used to sound like he was writing in time signatures that didn't even exist yet. His bouncy, hollow drums feel uncomfortably restrained in the track's stale progression, and the bottled-up kinetic energy is never quite unleashed.
