Re: Pushing the scene
I was initially apprehensive about the title and the academic introduction, it was trite enough to be something you'd expect to hear a grad student pitch to the bored PR heads at a board meeting at a major; but after that it presented itself to be a well informed and documented production.
It must be said, though, that throughout all the years of seeing these type of 'roots' videos with original heads like Mala, Pokes, Loefah, Youngsta, Hatacha, Skream, Horsepower, Kode9 et al. I can't say anyone comes across as well as Pinch does when discussing the topic of what is vital and how best to interpret this sound; his overviews are just comprehensive enough to give you a concise understanding, but not overbearing and every idea is expressed diligently and with purpose.

Re: Pushing the scene
the best doc i've seen on contemporary dubstep. respect to everyone involved, a lot of sense being talked here.
Re: Pushing the scene
i'm only 5 minutes in so far, but it seems excellent. so far the best dubstep documentary, along with Bassweight.
Re: Pushing the scene
Seems Awesome so far, I love Dubstep Dox! It's like taking a trip teleported to london via the internet.

Re: Pushing the scene
I like how it touches on how the record industry mixed with capitalism is a sham, only concerned with making money.
That's a very important point, dubstep is the new Hip Hop, and the tycoons want to cash in.
Big Up's to all the OGs sticking to their roots.
