producing headphones

Post by 55stevieboy2010 » Sun Nov 20, 2011 7:06 pm

easy

before i go on, ive read a link on a similar thread like this but no matter how i search i cant find it again (it isnt the producing headphones for under £100 either)

ill go on, so yea basically want some advice on what you guys think are the best headphones for production, i use monitors but i just want some headphones to check every now and then the comparison.

ive seen these, look pretty sturdy and seem to have decent reviews...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audio-Technic ... 20bd372d6c

but are there any better?

thanks

Get AKG headphones. They are better than the Audiotechnica ones. I used to have those headphones you showed.

If lyons werent on permanent vacation, he'd be all over this thread talking about the ultrasone pro 900's...after researching online, though, they don't seem to be flat.
...in my opinion

Also thinking about upgrading mine

im looking at either the akg 141 mkII's or the sennheiser HD 25 II's

my roommate has the sennheisers (http://www.sennheiser.ca/live/senn/produit/en/643/13) and i use them for mastering and doing the final touches because the sound is really clear, a lot of big name producers use them too

not sure what your price range is, but the akg k240 mkII's are pretty top for their price

I woudln't use the HD25 for production... brilliant DJ headphones though.

In the 200 range i'd buy these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beyerdynamic-DT ... 529&sr=8-3

Ultrasone gives you that great studio quality. I have used the HFI-700 model for 5 years now. Mine broke and I don't think I can trust any other brand.
