Deejay Mo & Pillsman - Croatian Army
The concept sounds like something straight out of Raster-Noton's laboratories: working alongside the nuclear physicists Deejay Mo and Pillsman, created musical algorithms "based on the scientists' models of how radiation is emitted from various isotopes.
The package is beefed up by three deconstructions of "Croatian Army" including a remarkable take from one of the Greece underground's big breakthrough artists of 2011 John Ov3rblast producer invites you into the broad, sweeping plains of his mind. Using merely a dash of the original's vocal, knocked back into the very far distance, you will hear the crackle of vinyl, cascades of reverb and sonic urban experimentalism that gets you in a headlock. Faintly disturbing in a highly enjoyable way.
Franzis-D remix considerable percussive nous, but by using a limited palette of pulsing deep house synths and a hypnagogic not to mention disquieting loop of heavy, frosted breathing, makes a more memorable impression to shift and stretch beyond the specificity of his influences. The last remix is from young and gifted DJ/Producer known by Massymo TN with a remix which plaits some seriously twisted electro brass into vats of fomenting acid, complete with a screeching breakdown that trips you up by the ankles and drags you feet first into the nearest sweatbox club.
