Just another way of working that can have interesting results, basically using vocal slices as percussion. When done with MIDI of existing percussion, it will automatically match up, then you just pitch and shift stuff around to taste.
A lot of the original juke was done with MPCs by banging out samples on the pads, then using the MPC's unique groove and quantize functions. Ghettotech, so yeah don't overcomplicate it.
Yeah just takes longer, especially with complex percussion, but whatever works. Could also do it via sidechaining or volume automation as well, so the kicks or hats trigger a vocal when it hits. Many ways to go about it.

Was it just about his Addison stuff or did the alter ego Headhunter also speak? He experimented with some dub techno, echochord inspired stuff for a while as Headhunter, always wanted to hear more of his take on that.

i always found it impossible to make a vocal loop thing so that it doesnt just get really really annoying
most juke tracks are only about 1 minute long i think but AG manafes a proper length tune by mixing up every so often- in footcrab there's "footcrab", "insane" and "yaa hommy" or whatever that one is
as for mixing, yeah sidechaining, i also always find myself doing the 1-7-11 placement of vocals too

i dont get how you can have problems with this, you just plonk in an acapella and the add reverb and maybe some compression and EQ if needed. all the juke guy probably do is as someone else has said just bang in samples on the MPC.
I recently tried to make a juke track for fun. I saw DJ Rashad and Spinn at the Croft in Bristol last month, pretty cool seeing them live how they work together and a lot of the vocal samples are actually Spinn just saying stuff and repeating it.

Hey that sound's awesome! ... You wouldn't happen to be the same Umami who made amb001c would you? If so, I'd just like to say how much I really liked that track. I actually spent last weekend recreating amb001c in Ableton with a buddy of mine. You have a very unique style, and I really dig it. Keep up the good work.
