I think that's the jist of what he's saying. For example, once a week for an hour or whatever, one of the members of the forum does a live stream while producing. Gives people an insight into how others produce, and gives people the opportunity to learn some new techniques, and see how other people go about producing.

At least, that's what I took from it haha

It wouldn't be hard to implement this, but it's down to how useful it would be, and how many people would tune in / participate. I actually think it's quite a good idea...

Either way, Chad, this is probably something you could do yourself. Wouldn't really take a mod would it? If there's a set date/time, just post a thread saying who will be doing what. I'm sure you could get people willing to do this if you didn't want to personally.

So, would you just be watching them move things around etc, or would it be interactive? And if it's interactive, wouldn't that mean that the person who is 'hosting' would have to constantly stop what they're doing to answer questions?

(would be a good chance to see whose got dodgy plugins ;) )

It'd be someone streaming their screen while they're producing something. Like, say I get the inspiration to produce something, I could be like ok and then I'd bump the thread I'll make and then people can watch me produce and like talk to me and stuff and ask questions and I could ask them questions and it could almost emulate having another produce with you to just chill while you make music.

'Naw mean?

But, I gotta go to my grannymaw's for Thanksgiving, so I'll bbl.

Sounds like a dope idea, why not start with a youtube channel so all the videos would be archived? Probably a lot easier to set up aswell! Then if it all goes well you could start a Ustream? Just a thought

Just to be real for a second, knowing the amount of people that look at dubstepforum daily... a youtube channel would probably be explosive. People would really love that myself included. It would be a really interesting way to catalogue the various tutorials and what not that exist here at DSF. If it was organized well and taken care of, it could be one of the more popular dubstep/EDM in general channels on youtube. Think of all the views that people like that ryan enzed dude get on youtube just doing tutorials of things. Tutorials from a place with a legitimate name and a reputation for asking and answering questions could really be a first stop for people.

The idea was brought up a while ago, it wasn't permitted to be done.

A youtube channel was set up by members for members though, not using the dubstepforum name as such.

Link to a song on the channel, wicked song too...

The YouTube channel idea is good IMO. Although if we cant use the def name idk what we could call it.

When I get home later today I will make up a name and I will make a thread announcing it and I will ask who would like to contribute to it. I will pm the password to said people. This is going to be cool.

I don't think it would be that hard to do. Obviously you would want audio.

Could always route a mic through a mixer channel in the DAW so we could hear what the shower n teller is saying.

One hitch, sound quality? How good can you get sound quality when streaming video too?

Super experimental.

I have a thread here discussing the track, and offering you the chance to remix it, more details in thread! See what you can come up with!

Will never be allowed, i remember recently a user wanted to use the DSF name for a label. Dubway owns the rights and he won't go allowing anyone to use the Dubstep Forum name, quite rightly tbh.

or maybe even like a youtube channel where we could have whole track walkthroughs... kinda like a Masterclass series, except we could actually get down to the nitty gritty and see everything like automations, plugins, settings, etc. I think that would be really cool. I like the masterclasses, but everyone is secretive about the real programming and it would be cool to see some indepth looks at really good DSF members tracks

Ya I was getting the idea that it was an in-depth masterclass tutorial type deal. I'm sure there's some things people do in their workflow, just little things, that would be learned from something like this. It would be neat to see how someone starts out making a song and finishes it.
Making it interactive would be the difficult part.

I've been piddling around with FL and it would be great to see how people navigate around in it. Just to see how people work with the user interface.
