I like it! I think adding some vocal samples, no actual words, just different human sounds would make for some more variation. I like the driving feel throughout the entire track of the percussion and the guitar sound. Maybe play up on that with some extra layering in some parts? I like.

Okay, I did three comments. Great tracks everyone, would appreciate y'all to take a mo to listen to mine and give some feedback. It's in my signature.
Also, what do you guys think of my cover art?
I'm taking a class at my school on photoshop, so I made it then...
Fuck it, anyways, would appreciate some feedback, thanks, peace.
Edit: btw, the mixdown is absolutely shit, I will freely admit I have no idea how to master

@phyzicist : not that much into D&B but I like your tune, listening right now, it progresses as expected and the pianos are simply beautiful, and never get boring. If you could improve anything on the track, I think it would be the lead, it seems like you're repeating notes a lot, it kind of contrasts with the piano, which are just about perfect.
@Sonika : cool, tks for the feedback, I might consider another mix with a vocal in the future, a complete overhaul of this track. I'm from Brazil so I didn't want to use a non native english singer nor sample, but I might try something. BTW link on your signature is broken, so I could not give you feedback.

@audioperversion : yeah, idk, vocal clips maybe. And thanks for telling me that my link is broken, I didn't know...I'm on my iPod right now, I'll fix it when I get home to my computer.
That's awesome that your from brazil btw...

@Refuzed - Good track! Great idea's the mixdown and eq'ing need's work your bass is missing some mid range and i feel like the track is a little too quiet for my liking great samples and the second drop is definatly what the whole track should sound like in term of volumes!
@Audioperversion - Really good keys the only thing is they overlap the vocals a little too much maybe lower the gain levels a little i feel like the vocals should be ahead in the mix! keep it up the track as alot of potential!
@Jrisreal - You know how much i love your work! Great track except like it's been said it need's some variation in the bass maybe some modulation? the high end of the hat might need some fine-tuning but it's a good mixdown!
here's my track not my usual cup of tea i made it in 2 hours or so but i had to try moombahton!!

Nice track, dude! at 51 seconds, it sounds kinda weak. might want to beef it up with something in the lower mids. Loving that squarey lead, though.Globalz wrote:@Refuzed - Good track! Darj - In the Dusk = Great tune! Don't have much to say about it other than that.
Comfi - Thou Shalt not Live = Really nice. The pads are beautiful. Really everything well done.

The drums are not effective enough for me.
They work but just don`t keep my attention.
Possibly more change-ups and percussion work.
The background atmospheres/strings are not bad but are a cheesy imo, I`m more into darker sounds though so I`m no real judge of that.
The drop works but I`m never a big fan of drums just picking up speed to drop.
I like the sort of bell tone that comes in after the drop, it adds some variety but gets drowned out a bit by your synth, strings, etc all playing over each other.
Mixdown is solid enough on my phones but I only have in-ear plugs for reference.
It`s good but not sci-fi enough for me.
But that is entirely personal preference.
Here's my latest track.
I`ve been working on more of a Deeper, Darker, Dungeon sound.
Always psychedelic.

I really like the deep/dark sound, nice work

Re: Finished Tunes For Feedback - Nov/Dec 2011
@Elecric_Head Tbh I don't really have much to say, tune sounds great.
Would like the clap to be a little bit higher in the mix though but maybe that's not how you pictured the song I'm not sure if it would make it sound better.
You could probably make it sound a wee bit more interesting by changing the vocals up more, pitch up/pitch down, glitchy delay kind of things? Something like the vocals after 3 minutes in Disco Rekah by Loefah?
Also there is no free download.
@Darj - Inner Calm Like the loop in the start, sounds very fresh. I like the percussion through out the tune, think your kick should a little less hi-end though. I like the sounds of the pads but I think they don't fit with the tune, they'd work better with something else, something with less energy. Some 130-135 stuff maybe
Overall a nice sounding tune!
@jrisreal Energy and even more energy! Like that bass sound, even if I think it sounds a little bit generic for this kind of DnB. You've worked your way around that in a good way though and given it a nice touch. Like the change in the bass pattern in the second drop, refreshing and interesting. Take away that bass a little earlier in the breakdown and bring the pads forward, it will make the audience crave for more bass and go crazy when it actually comes.
Hope I'm helping you
My tune: Bootleg remix of Aloe Blacc's tune "I need a dollar"
Don't want to call it deep because, well it isn't very deep. It's not bro wither though and I'm not really sure if there's someones style I can really compare this with. Have been listening to alot of the newew Tes La Rok tunes lately though.
Soundcloud
Any tips on how to improve it are welcome!

Re: Finished Tunes For Feedback - Nov/Dec 2011
fused production - intro is nice but think vocals need to be improved on, perhaps chop em up a bit so u can make it some more like the original speed, and perhaps less reverb. Buildup with works and I like the little drum fill before the drop. Think when it drops the song lacks the energy it should have, maybe a bit more midrange would be nice (don't overload tho!) the next breakdown / drop is like the first one repeated so I think I needs a bit more variance! Quite nice over just needs a few tweaks

@Globalz : tks for the feedback, love your moohbaton track, the first synth line is so dope, it feels like French Kiss revisited or something but totally twisted. nice work.

Re: Finished Tunes For Feedback - Nov/Dec 2011
@jrisreal - well produced track. Not too much of a fan of the crazy drums, they're someone off putting. I'd advise adding more risers in your tune as well, for building tension, etc. overall this is a pretty gangster track, I just find it very confusing
@electric head. The samples you're using for your drums are not good man
find the right samples. There is this sub bass thats there but it's a) lost harmonic b) sub sonic and barely audible. and messing up your mix. The ambiance is legit. dig the tripping nature of it. I would suggest revisiting your drums and sub bass. as will jrisreal, add riser fx and such for 'flow' in the sense of building tension, transferring from one part of your song to the next if you get what I mean.
@darj - this is a sick tune man. the snare/clap, cut off a bit around 600-850hz? maybe? and more reverb, give it space. otherwise dude. killer tune. oh and I personally hate that intro lead. it is the CHEESE of cheese
oh maybe beef up the bass a bit. shake the room man

Re: Finished Tunes For Feedback - Nov/Dec 2011
Phizicist: Like your breezy DnB tune, nice work, can't really come up with any criticism's for it. Well done.
Globalz: Everything seems mixed pretty well, feel like it gets a little monotonous in the middle of the tune, could you try adding a couple extra kicks here and there to break things up? I know your going for the four to the floor thing, but maybe just once in a while to shake things up.Otherwise dig it!
Electric Head: Only criticism I can come up with is maybe the gun cock noise is a bit over used in this tune, I'd cut every other gun cock out and replace it with a nice reverbed or delayed snare or clap. Not sure if I'm making sense... so instead of (gun, beat, gun, beat, gun) it would be like (gun, beat, clap, beat, gun).

Hey everybody, this is the first tune I've ever posted on DSF. So feel free to smack me around a little bit, I've always liked it kinda rough anyway.
I'm looking for feedback on the Hi's and Low's mostly, high end making your ears bleed? Low end almost destroy your nice monitors? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Soundcloud

Re: Finished Tunes For Feedback - Nov/Dec 2011
@Fused: I feel like the kick is far louder than the snare. It could do with being sped up a bit, and it seems like there's a lot of empty space? Maybe add some more midrangey sounds.
@Electric Head: Whoa, that's some deep bass. Maybe the kick could be less overpowering, but that's pretty much it. Good stuff.
@Globalz: The vocal sample isn't in the same key...it seems a bit strange to me. Also, adding in another riff for the synths would be good, as it seems to repeat a lot to me. I like the drum work though!
@Drastik: Kick sounds a little distorted? That might be what you want though, not sure. I don't really like that static sound at 1:02ish. I wish the sample at 1:20 didn't interrupt the flow of the drop so much, because I really do like the drop. It seems to get in the way a little.
Here's mine, I think it's some form of dubstep...not sure though.

@phizicist whoa, sick fuckin song! how can i get a download of this?!
@airgonaut whoa! love the vocals. i wish the bass was a little bit subbier and i think the snare needs more snap and needs to pop out more though
not too much though it sounds good under the mix a little bit it just needs a little more definition through it
@fused i really like it but i think the bass could have just a little more midrange growl and a clearer top end
main thing i like is that the lfo is unsynced and grooves a lot
refreshing to not hear 1/4 1/8 wubs just playing different notes
the kick roll doesn't need to play those rapid notes for so long or at all even
@draztik the vocal sample kind of kills the groove a little
i think the kicks should groove more with swing/triplets
that blatant of a modern talking though =
other basses are pretty dope though
Soundcloud
atmospheric.
not sure how i feel about it
it's not really a dance tune just chill shit

This track is called DTEMSLA (Do They Even Make Shit Like This Anymore?), i think that kinda explains it. I was going for the old school sound with this.

@Phizicist - as Mammoth said, WHERE CAN I GET A DOWNLOAD OF THIS? imma peep the soundcloud in a sec, see if youve got more track but as a first hand fan of drum and bass, i love this man, great job. thats all that can be said.
@Airgonaut - man, i like this, but id love to hear the snare with ALOT less reverb, and a different kick. When the bass comes in though, absolutely sick, it work really well with the vocals. Only other thing i can think of is mixing it a little bit more, maybe bring that delayed bell/chime sounding lead down because it felt like it was peaking a little.
@Mammoth - this is sick, im pretty sure i have this vocal sample somewhere, downloaded from freesound if i remember correctly? haha. All this needs, in my eyes, is more percussion, id love to hear something running in the background, maybe a little delayed hi-hat pattern, maybe even some bongos but the drums felt a little bare to me. apart from that, MAKE IT LONGER, youve done something nice here, i want to hear more and more! haha.

the kick is too load but I can`t see there being sub issues.
thanks anyway
