try going to the actions menu and type in "save item as audio file" and make a shortcut or put in on a toolbar or whateverapastrat wrote:How do you batch save slices in reaper, even possible?

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
Thanks, but typing that doesnt show anything, running latest Reaper.
edit: Ok, i see that one way is to "render items as a new take" and then copy the files from where Reaper saved them.

make sure you have the sws extention pack http://www.standingwaterstudios.com/
then it will work!

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
That works, kinda. It gives save or cancel option for each slice which is kinda annoying. Thanks anyway!

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
I think the slicing output options in R4 are better than those in R3.apastrat wrote:How do you batch save slices in reaper, even possible?
But check back over the last 10- 15 pages of this thread for some pretty decent slicing and export options.
Also, you can set where Reaper saves all its 'working' files in the options, on the first tab I believe.

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
I'm trying to figure out how to set up a brick wall limiter at -0.1 db. I understand how compressors work, I've just never been able to figure out how to set up a limiter so that it will stop a couple of peaks from clipping without compression the rest of the mix.
For example let's say the mix rides around -.04db, but in 2 instances the mix spikes to +.5. I want to be able to stop those clips at zero without squashing the whole mix. How would I best achieve this with the onboard compressor plugs, i.e recomp or reafir?

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
In Reacomp, just set the ratio to infinity and set your threshold at -0.1.

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
so it makes sense in theory but I'm still getting peaks. I have attack at 0 and precomp at 15ms, release at 100, I don't understand. I've tried with both extremes of kneesSunkLo wrote:In Reacomp, just set the ratio to infinity and set your threshold at -0.1.

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
Either lower the threshold slightly or add a second compressor/limiter with the same settings after the first.briskisgoodforu wrote:so it makes sense in theory but I'm still getting peaks. Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
If i have a track with a decent amount of virtual instruments and effects running, i've noticed reaper will start "skipping" it doesn't make the glitchy noises like a alot of daws did, more often it plays notes slightly out of time or skips over them. I feel like its a buffer issue, but it also happens using my mbox or digi002, not just when running asio4all or something.
right now my buffer is 4 x 2048, but i know embarassingly little about how reapers buffer system works, so its just been trial and error at this point.
im running 64 bit reaper with quad core, 6 gigs of ram, and 7 x64

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
My knowledge of buffers is flawed, but I think smaller buffers are better no? Try it setting the buffers to the smallest possible and see if that makes a difference.
