Anyone seen this or any information? Are bogey pills a bit problem in England? Seems kinda scary that there was more than one death.

Much more likely it were just a bunch of morons who took whatever they could get hold of for a few quid. From what i hear it was a packed out sweat pit too which don't help. Just the other week i was reading articles about pills in UK clubs being nearly as stong/potent as they were in the 90s lol.

I like "Police have said anybody who took drugs and doesnt feel well to see a doctor". Most people don't feel that great the next day or two. What goes up must come down!

Opiates + Weed.

Stimulants are just so hard on your body and the comedown outweighs any kind of high for me.

"The 20-year-old victim had attended a drum and bass and "dubstep" event on Friday night that continued into Saturday".

chances are it wasn't a dodgy pill and was just hydration issues, same with most ecstasy related deaths. people take these drugs and don't think of the fact that it's changing shit in ur body you need to keep on top of!

Something similar happened at Fabric a couple of months back.

Could be dodgy stuff.......or just people taking as much as they possibly can to look ''badman''.

Macho ingestion syndrome - same as people downing a dozen pints and being sick in their shoes, then bragging about it the next day.

This. I've never understood why people buy shit off randomers inside a venue, friends of mine do it all the time. Either get it off someone reliable beforehand or just don't bother. 99% of the time you'll be fine, but these guys are probably in the 1% that aren't.

contaminated pills are alot less common than most people think. as said earlier it's normally down to a how many can i take tip or not hydrating properly whilst taking anything. if people think they are grown up enough to take drugs they should also been grown up enough to know the dangers and be able to reduce the risk by following very basic principles. okay so fair paly there has been genuine reports of contaminated mdma in the uk in the last couple of years, but MDMA, as a syntheetic chemical is fairly simple thus doesn't go wrong much.
and 'reliable sources' aren't always as reliable as you think. ecstasy is idfferent to say weed or coke for dealers, both of which u can try first. no one really wants to drop a couple of e pills in the middle of the afternoon whislt picking up a batch of 5000 just to check they're alright..

oh and one other thing. INVEST IN SOME PILL TESTERS! scrape a bit off before you buy. not everyone will let you but why would you buy off someone who won't let u shave a bit off to check its the real deal

Yeah its pretty mental. Also Im amazed at how little people actually know about what they are doing, you would think taking something like MDMA would make you do atleast alittle research before hand. I wonder if It will end up being dodgey stuff or hydration related..It was hot as fuck on saturday(inside!).

I don't do any of this hard drug stuff but I run with a "well seasoned crew", so I deal with hard drugs and their consequences quite often as I'm usually the designated electronic music driver: The burden of being able to enjoy dance music perfectly sober I guess.

However, when I'm not the DD, I stick to the guns that I know well: Vodka, Beer and Weed. I have a good ( but never perfect) sense of how much I can consume of either of those three substances. And over time, I've learned to balance the simultaneous intake of the three to insure maximum enjoyment. I'm coming up on 12 years of consuming them. So I certainly don't say this to "brag" bro's, I was young once too and had my fair share drink/drug related incidents. I have never crashed out at a party (though as I said, in the younger days that was down to good fortune a few times...).

You need to able to : 1) hold your liquor. 2) identify the drugs you are taking and consume in moderation (at least, at the start). 3) have someone like me there who can sort of step up if he/she thinks you're blowing it.

1) Minimum drinking age in Belgium is 16, but only in the past 5 years or so have the police and business owners started to enforce this policy. In my days, by the time you were 16, most youths that went out to raves and the like knew what it was to drink and generally knew how much liquor the system could handle. So it was easier and safer to take it that step further when combining with other forms of drugs.

2) I'm surprised MDMA is causing the trouble here. Personally, I've seen people on my direct environment take badly to all kinds of drugs, but never MDMA to be honest. But, as with any drugs, product knowledge is key. There's always the off chance you've hit a bogus batch (though that possibility should be a lot bigger with XTC pills or some other drugs like others have stated...)

3) Drugs often take a while to take effect. How many times have we all seen it happen. You take a pill, wait for it and nothing seems to happen. You lose your restraint and double the dose and now the first batch is kicking in but you think it's already the second batch. So you take a third one thinking it's finally started and you can handle one more....then it all goes wrong. You forget to take in liquids, start sweating etc. and you (hopefully) wake up in E.R. with your stomach pumped. Having a third person there keeping an eye out for you (who you can trust and respect), is never a bad thing. Though in the end, it's still YOUR responsibility...

tbh it's probably just a case of "i can do way more pills than you cos im such a badman". there's a real mentality about of just competition - who's gonna get more out of it. really immature and dangerous tbh, i'd never do more than i felt absolutely comfortable with, just not worth the risk
