So what's it like in your town, area or even country?
Dubstep still hasn't exaclty taken off over here in Belfast/Norn Ireland. It's pretty annoying tbh, but I guess promoters over here know there's not much demand for dubstep. Although there does seems to be a decent bass scene over here even with the lack of dubstep and dnb, and with Joy Orb, Boddika and Bok Bok (soon) all having played here in recent months things are looking up

Yeah they are, their the ones who had Boddika in the other week, and have had Untold and Luke Vibert as well. As I said there's a decent bass scene in belfast, just not much dubstep or dnb.

unfortunetly the NZ/Auckland scene is built on the noisier side of things.... and tends to be running on the 'how fucked up can i get, and whats the most filthy music i can listen to' attitude.
its sad, but in saying that, there is a small crowd of people here into the deeper side of things, and theyve been going hard since day dot.

It should also be said that Auckland has a long standing affinity for quality House music.

Orange County
it's a fucking disaster
LA is alright but it's mostly hiphop and beats type stuff (brainfeeder, alpha pup type stuff), which is awesome, but it's not the UK bass music I've fallen in love with...

it absolutely is if you ask me; boston is actually alright (mala, silkie, goth-trad, joe nice, truth, pearson sound, pangaea and plenty more been thru this year) but its not every weekend that I can catch a headliner set, probably like once or twice a month.
plus new york has the best dubstep night this side of the atlantic in reconstrvt so yea they win.
"There is a lot of tension in the music that carries a satisfactory darkness with it, but it's also lazy music. You don't have to dance hard to move with it. It was born with a reefer in it's gob."
