so many similarities to dnb
thank god vex'd got me into dubstep despite all the 2step and garage i owned and dubstep before it was called that
Speaking of Vex'd... why haven't we heard anything about them in quite a while now?

To stay on topic: When you have to explain who Mala is...

Here's a little conversation I had with someone at work recently who noticed me checking this forum:

"Oh! Do you also listen to Dubstep bro?"
"... Uhh.. Yeah.. But not the mainstream Dubstep that you probably listen to."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, Skrillex and all that."
"Skrillex is sick man! Do you know Sinister Souls or Going Quantum? They're fucking huge bro. "
"No, I don't actually."
"Well what kind of Dubstep do you listen to then?"
"Mala for instance, but you probably have no idea who that is."
"...No. But there are lots of bands nowadays that are underground you know."
"..."

He literally used the word bands...
And then there are people talking about how we have to educate the new ones to the scene. Well believe me, I fucking tried, but it's just no use.
Most of the time they say such retarded things that I just give up. Fuck it.

No no, didn't miss those. Although I didn't know that Roly Porter was the other half of Vex'd... thanks for the info on that.
But yeah, was more talking about Vex'd, not their solo monnikers.

Cloud Seed is so dense I think it'll be another year or so before I fully appreciate it

First record i bought was left leg out/blue notez and payed the normal price for it, i used to love taking control of the music at a party playing some classic loefah or toasty and everyone was like turn it off good times :)

Also, I wonder whatever happened to S&D ? Or Vaccine. Wasn't she supposed to release an album or something a few years ago?

I always used to think the sort of stuff that hatcha played sounded really basic and cobbled together, i was massively into garage though which got shit after the millenium because it was either aggro mc's grabbing the mic or too cheesy. Garage Nation was fucking awesome though but i never went to FWD back in the day.

I thought Vex'd split up and Cloud Seed was just a compilation of some unreleased tunes ?

when you still listen to Our Sound, Degenerate and the Grime LP and then think to yourself "where the hell did it go wrong?"

Also when you remember Caspa as Quiet Storm

Spotted 2 new copies of the original Grime album in a Parisian department store last week. Should've really bought them in hindsight.

You were one of 20 people at "velvet rooms" and still completely blown away by seeing all your favorite producers under one roof (special shouts out to Zed Bias, Oris, Ms Dynamite, Heartless, Matt Jam Lamont, that night was epic!)

... you don't put random words in front of "step" to try and make a new genre
