Thought this might be an interesting topic.
I am actually in the process of stepping down from a dpt. manager position in a retail chain so I can go back to school before I can't afford it. Figured this would be a good way to see what careers are out there.

European Sales Operations manager for a global telecommunications company. I got here by getting laid off from a previous role as a marketing manager, and taking an entry level position here about 5yrs ago after my redundancy package ran out. Got promoted within 6 months, then got into my current managerial role about 8 months ago.

			Medical devices equipment librarian

Basically make sure stuff at the hospital is working and clean to use on patients around the hospital.
In reality I spend 2-3hours a day working and the rest on the internet looking up music.
Got it after being made redundant from a shitbag warehouse job two years ago. Trying to get a job in London now but when you only have GCSE's and no kind of connections its hard as fuck.

I'm a 'senior' Windows server engineer for a bank. Left school after my A Levels, got a job on the phones with AOL/Compuserve and did huge amounts of home-geekery which was enough to get me in as a support monkey at a little company in Bristol - got made redundant when the company went down, so I started contracting, moved to London and from there it's all been working hard and keeping my eye on where the best contracts are*.
*not spent enough time on the second bit recently.

Work in a technical support centre, Myself along with 5 colleagues are the full tech support for about 8 or 9 rather large electrical retailers. Good pay, good scope for movement within the company and a good laugh most of the time.
Totally not what I want to be doing but at the moment while I sort my life out it's pretty good.
Got this job after being made redundant from a hard but enjoyable card manufacturers where I was in charge of inventory of stock but generally my background is retail

Transport Logistics Manager for a large water company.
I got here through working my way up from an admin role.
I hate it though. I would rather shovel shit for a living tbh.

I'm an accounts assistant for a business travel agency in London.
Got a job working 3 days a week for a small business/marketing management company near my house for a year and got some experience then my dad offered me a job at his company, I wouldn't say it's my dream job or anything but it's pretty good and it pays well which means I can hopefully move out soon.
