Logic pro 9 vs Logic Studio

Post by TokerCoughin » Tue Dec 13, 2011 12:47 am

Amateur producer here, also guitarist, cellist and beatboxer.
Wondering what would be best for my needs.
Given that i have been learning Logic Pro for a few months now, I feel that I can do everything I'd want to within Logic Pro 9 itself, There is nothing that I can see that's so advantageous for me with mainstage, Soundtrack Pro 3 or the included samples. The only thing that might be quite missed is the pedalboard and amp designe. But given that I may very well be picking up Komplete 8, which has guitar rig, I feel as if I'll be well rounded, and versatile enough.

What are your thoughts DSF ?

Should I look into purchasing Logic Studio, or just get the bare-bones Logic Pro ?

I'd love to hear from you, let me know!

Toker.

Logic Pro 9 Is now download only from the App Store. And doesnt come with Mainstage or Soundtrack included. You have to buy Mainstage as an extra and they don't do Soundtrack anymore. However good news is Its only £130. Logic pro on its own is the same Logic pro that comes with studio Btw, not bare bones at all, that is Logic Express.

I already knew that, perhaps I didn't word that well enough in the above question, but Yeah, I know Logic Pro is the same on it's own, and with in Logic Studio, I was just wondering if you thought it was worth the extra chunk of change for mainstage and soundtrack pro as well.

But thank you for your insight, I appreciate it very much. And I will very likely soon be picking up a copy of Logic Pro!
