it's not the dungeon sound I think he's talking about, that shit is generally quite deep with just a few midrange stabs, but I'm happy to be proven wrong by the op. Definitely not midway between brostep and deep.

yeah i used to rate him
bc i saw him spin once and it was incredible
had nothing to do with dubstep, he was spinning hip hop n glitch n breaks
saw him once more, in 2010, nothing but brostep, lasers, etc... lotta girls though

experiment with shit from what you've learnt making filthy crap but with softer waves with less harmonic's.
use envelopes instead of lfo's. modulate lpf's to open towards the end of the note
