Hi all
I am currently very frustrated and in need of some help!!
I have an old Roland E-36 keyboard which I am trying to hook up via a serial MIDI port to my computer (which has a serial MIDI port). On my computer I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and my DAW is FL Studio 10. Now, my issue is, I cannot get the computer to recognize my keyboard controller WHATSOEVER. It's as if there isn't anything plugged in at all. I am quite new to this MIDI stuff and would like to know what I have to do to get the computer to recognize my controller so that I can use it in FL Studio. I've scoured the net for drivers (specific and generic) and I haven't found any! Is it a driver I am missing or what??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Problem is, I'm plugging in via serial, not USB... I think it's serial, has 15 pins - not sure if that's what you call serial. I guess I'll have to get USB?? They're difficult to find and expensive here where I live.

Had a look at those. Only problem is I am in South Africa so to ship things here cost more than the product itself. I'm going to have a look around at the music and electrical shops here and see what I can find. It's just a pity I can't get the serial to work because then you are assured absolutely no delay whatsoever. Not sure what the delay is like through usb?
Thanks btw!
