Ohmicide VST
Everyone says what a great plugin Ohmicide seems to be and how its really good.
I havn't really tried a lot with it to be honest, but when I have it just makes everything sound crap.
Is there any preset that is commonly used by any of you? Theres thousands that come with it, or any tips and advice on what to do with it?
It does seem like a great plugin I just havn't got the patience to test it all out

Re: Ohmicide VST
Use it in very small amounts. (IE on a return track at -50dB with wet/dry at 50%)
You can't overdo it with Ohmicide or any other distortion or you'll destroy the sound you were originally trying to enhance.

Re: Ohmicide VST
its a good plugin, it reminds of trash a little bit. maybe trash is better but sadly thats really expensive.
also yeah with distortion always use it in parallel and in small amounts!

Re: Ohmicide VST
Personal preference I know, but I tend to use distortion only when I intend to create a broken or damaged sound. Ohmicide is awesome for that, particularly the feedback feature, but it can be difficult to force into compliance sometimes, and it seems like a bit of a CPU hog, so it gets more use in resamples than as an effect in the traditional sense.

Re: Ohmicide VST
my best results withit have been creating a basic subline then sending that to a bus with ohmicide and some modulation plugins and posssibly an lfo controlled filter. using it on a bus helps tame it a bit cuz it can indeed destroy a sound but on a bus low it can turn your subline into a nice mid rangy beast, especially with a nice intricate fx chain on the bus.

Re: Ohmicide VST
Like reso says, a lot of a little, meaning use really low settings like mentioned above but setup a chain of ohmicides that can shape your enhancement.
EDIT: I'd like to see if anyone has any tricks or tips with ohmicide, would be interesting and helpful.
